Shocking: Thai Olympic Committee Vice President Reveals 10 Cases of Female Athlete Abuse at SEA Games 2025

Shocking news: Dr. Suwanna Silpa-archa, Vice President of the Thai Olympic Committee, revealed that female athletes were subjected to 10 cases of abuse during the "SEA Games 2025."


On 27 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Dr. Suwanna Silpa-archa, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, disclosed that 10 cases of female athlete abuse occurred during the "SEA Games 2025" held from 9 to 20 December 2025 GMT+7, following the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance Safeguarding in Sport standards.

Dr. Suwanna confirmed that during the SEA Games, female athletes and team liaison officers experienced a total of 10 abuse cases. These included verbal abuse, psychological harassment, and attempted physical abuse. Among the victims was one foreign female athlete.

Details regarding the sports disciplines or the countries of the foreign athletes affected have not been publicly disclosed to protect the victims and preserve the dignity of the athletes.
