
The Governor of Phichit invites cyclists nationwide to compete in the Thailand cycling championship round 2 and experience the Saranjit Mongkolsuk Cycling Track at Bueng Si Fai.
Phichit Province takes over as host to organize the second round of the 2026 Thailand cycling championship for road and mountain bike categories, competing for the Royal Cup, from 20-22 February 2026. Ms. Thaniya Naipinit, Governor of Phichit, has instructed all relevant agencies to carry out their duties to ensure a successful and flawless event. She also invites cyclists nationwide to experience the beauty of the race venues and local tourist attractions in Phichit.
General Decha Hemkrasri, Deputy Chairman of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), President of the ASEAN Cycling Federation (ACF), and President of the Cycling Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, revealed that the Cycling Association is collaborating with Phichit Province, the Phichit Provincial Administrative Organization, and Wang Thap Sai Subdistrict Administrative Organization to hold the Thailand road cycling championship competing for the King's Bhumibol Royal Cup and the mountain bike championship competing for the King’s Royal Cup for the year 2026, round 2, from 20-22 February 2026. The road race will take place at Saranjit Mongkolsuk Cycling Track inside Bueng Si Fai, while the mountain bike race will be held at the Khao Din viewpoint in Wang Thap Sai Subdistrict, Sak Lek District.
General Decha said Phichit Province follows on from Thong Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi Province, in hosting the road race at Saranjit Mongkolsuk Cycling Track within Bueng Si Fai. The course is 10.28 kilometers per lap and previously hosted the 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championship from 7-16 February 2025. It was praised by international cyclists and judges as the most beautiful and safest lake circuit. Although the route is flat, challenges include various curves and strong winds, requiring cyclists to apply skill and individual technique.
"The mountain bike race will be held at the Khao Din viewpoint in Wang Thap Sai Subdistrict, Sak Lek District. Currently, the Cycling Association has assigned Sergeant Major Seri Ruangsiri, head coach of the Thai national mountain bike team, to coordinate with community leaders and residents of Wang Thap Sai Subdistrict, including Mr. Samai Kamluecha, Chief Executive of Wang Thap Sai Subdistrict Administrative Organization; Mr. Panawat Srimaduea, village headman; Mrs. Sukontharos Julakarawi, village chief of village 1; and other community leaders and villagers, to jointly improve the mountain bike race course. This effort fosters unity within the community. Mr. Supakit Kaikit, Chief Executive of Khlong Kachen Subdistrict Administrative Organization, along with the Phichit Provincial Administrative Organization, have supported the provision of staff and machinery to ensure the course is perfected," General Decha added.
General Decha also stated that the Cycling Association, in collaboration with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), Phichit Province, and the Phichit Provincial Administrative Organization, will organize the "Bike for Health - Bike for Life TCA GREEN CYCLING" event on Saturday, 21 February, at the Saranjit Mongkolsuk Cycling Track, covering 10.28 kilometers. This supports green sports activities emphasizing environmental preservation, pollution reduction, waste minimization, and combating global warming. Furthermore, the Cycling Association, together with ThaiHealth, is running a campaign against e-cigarette use, which is spreading among youth and adolescents, posing respiratory health risks and potentially causing cancer. The event will be broadcast live on Facebook Live via the Thailand Cycling Association and YouTube: TCA Channel starting at 14:30.
Ms. Thaniya Naipinit, Governor of Phichit, said that this year marks the fifth consecutive year Phichit is hosting the competition, bringing considerable readiness and experience. She has instructed all relevant agencies to fulfill their responsibilities and announced a final preparation meeting on 5 February to ensure the event’s completeness. Hosting the second round of the Thailand cycling championship for the Royal Cup is a source of pride for Phichit residents. The province is fully committed to supporting the event to achieve success and leave a lasting impression on cyclists nationwide. Mr. Krit Pensupa, Chief Executive of the Phichit Provincial Administrative Organization, said the organization is fully supportive of the Cycling Association in hosting the second round of the Thailand road and mountain bike championships. Support includes machinery and manpower for preparing the mountain bike race course. For the road race at Saranjit Mongkolsuk Cycling Track, public announcements have been made requesting the general public to avoid the area during the competition period and apologizing for any inconvenience. After each day’s competition, the track will be open for public use as usual. He also invites cyclists nationwide to experience the beauty of the Saranjit Mongkolsuk Cycling Track, a prominent landmark of Phichit Province.
For the second round of the competition in Phichit, the Cycling Association will broadcast the mountain bike downhill race live on Facebook Live via the Thailand Cycling Association and TCA Channel, as well as YouTube: TCA Channel, on Friday, 20 February at 10:00. The "Bike for Health - Bike for Life TCA GREEN CYCLING" event will be broadcast live on Saturday, 21 February at 14:30. The road race for the men’s public category will be live on Sunday, 22 February at 08:00. Cycling fans can follow the broadcasts on these dates and times.
