A senior Thai athlete died during a competition. Medical staff tried their best to save him but were unable to preserve his life.
On 2 February 2026, during the 8th National Senior Games "Prasat Phueng Games" held in Sakon Nakhon province from 25 January to 3 February 2026, a tragic incident occurred when a senior Thai athlete competed but passed away and did not return.
A Facebook user named Rawee Junyoujing posted that the senior runner passed away despite the medical team's CPR efforts, which ultimately could not save him.
“We report that a senior male athlete, competing in the 400-meter race in the 75-79 age group representing Kalasin province, has died. He was taken to the hospital and CPR was performed, but he did not regain consciousness. We extend our condolences to the provincial team and his family. #SeniorSportsSakonNakhon”
