The organizers of the Khao Yai Wild Breeze Run 2026 announced plans to refund money but will not return the full amount, deducting costs for shirts and medals already received by some participants.
On 15 February 2026, following the event on 14 February 2026, runners raised doubts on personal social media and various pages about the Khao Yai Wild Breeze Run 2026. This was a highlighted two-day, one-night trip including running, trail walking to explore nature, wildlife night safari, and camping, with meals provided morning and evening, plus a grand prize drawing for a popular car model. The event charged 999 baht per registration with 1,800 runners attending, featuring two race distances: a 5 km Fun Run and a 10 km Mini Marathon, held at the tent area at Khao Rom viewpoint in Khao Yai National Park. Questions arose on 15 February 2026 whether the event would proceed due to unpreparedness of the venue and management.
However, the organizers officially canceled the competition and promised to refund registration fees, raising expectations among many runners that they would receive their money back.
Recently, the organizers posted that refunds will be made but will deduct costs for those who have already received shirts and medals.
"Hello, this is the event organizer. We kindly ask all registered runners to send their payment slips and bank account numbers. We will process refunds gradually. Since we have already produced the medals and running shirts, we will deduct these costs for those who have received them. Please send your transfer details and account numbers via inbox."
This has led to many questions such as:
- After reading this, I have 2-3 questions: 1. How will you know who has already received the medal or shirt? Do you have records? 2. Those who planned to camp but could not and had to find accommodation elsewhere—will there be any compensation? 3. Everyone who arrived had expenses like travel, lodging, and food but did not run. Will there be any support for these costs?
- Who is the organizer? ThaiRun, the happiness hub for runners, should be blacklisted. These incidents are increasing. Last year there was one in Sakon Nakhon. Please have some pity on runners. The registration fee is small; travel and other expenses are much higher.
- The question is if you want to organize, take registrations; if you want to quit, cancel the event and refund 100% to avoid legal issues. Signing up for a Virtual run to help animals is more satisfying. With such responsibility, please do not organize any events again for the sake of the customers.
- Honestly, what they write about refunds is just talk. Every event says this only to give the impression they are trying to remedy the situation and buy time. They might try to change a criminal issue to a civil one. I recommend filing a police report only.
