National Sports Development Fund Supports Domestic Power 2026 Project to Continuously Advance Thai Sports

The National Sports Development Fund supports the 'Domestic Power 2026' project to continuously advance Thai sports development.

On Thursday, 12 February 2026 at 09:30, the National Sports Development Fund, together with the Sports Authority of Thailand, held a press conference to sign a memorandum of understanding at the Fund's office.

The Fund provides support under the name "Comprehensive Promotion of Potential Sports Project.

Domestic Power 2026," with Dr. Wanida Phansaard, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, presiding as chair.

.

At the same occasion, Mr. Surasak Koetjandhuk, Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) for Sports Promotion,

Mr. Tanukiat Janchoom, Manager of the National Sports Development Fund, SAT executives, leaders from eight sports associations, athlete representatives, and numerous media personnel attended.

This collaboration represents a strategic integration among the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Sports Authority of Thailand, and related sports associations to target the development of promising sports disciplines.

For this fiscal year, the National Sports Development Fund supports a budget exceeding 186 million baht, covering sports including football, badminton, taekwondo,

e-sports, golf, volleyball, athletics, and basketball—sports with strong international popularity and potential to deliver tangible achievements for the country.

. These are sports with a broad fan base globally and strong potential to generate significant results for Thailand.

The Domestic Power project serves as the main mechanism to drive the national strategy

for human resource development through sports by establishing a comprehensive system from grassroots to elite levels,

covering both team and individual sports. It aims to expand the sports population,

increase equal access to sports, and create a structured athlete development pathway through competitions from the grassroots level, to provincial, national, and professional stages.

Additionally, it emphasizes developing the capacity of coaches, sports personnel, and applying modern sports science and technology to elevate Thailand's training and competition standards to international levels.

Moreover, the project aligns with the Sports Promotion for National Development under the Royal Patronage,

which aims to enhance well-being across all ages, instill sports discipline, strengthen social immunity against drugs and vices, and open pathways to excellence for talented individuals through cooperation among government, private sector, and civil society.

Last year, the Domestic Power project received royal permission to bear the emblem of the Sports Promotion for National Development under the Royal Patronage,

which is affixed to trophies, medals, and certificates, symbolizing a prestigious honor and encouragement for participants nationwide.

This recognition serves as a valuable legacy and a morale boost for all who take part in the project across the country.
