"Porporo-Sapsiree" is preparing to launch the "Sapsiree Badminton Academy" at "The O2 Bangkok," Thailand's first sports complex integrating comprehensive "medical care-sports-rehabilitation." The academy will feature a professional coaching team to develop Thai children's potential into world-class athletes and is set to open in June 2026.
On 19 February 2026, Porporo Sapsiree Taerattanachai, a world champion Thai national badminton player, surprised and delighted Thailand's sports community by announcing the launch of the "Sapsiree Badminton Academy" at "The O2 Bangkok," Thailand's first sports complex combining comprehensive "medical care-sports-rehabilitation," developed by Lumrit Company Limited.
Porporo's academy at The O2 Bangkok is located on Charansanitwong 84 Alley, near Bang O MRT station, surrounded by urban communities, covering an area of 10,200 square meters.
Porporo revealed she will fully manage the academy as co-founder and director, aiming to bring her competitive experience to nurture Thai rising badminton stars for the global stage. The facility includes seven fully air-conditioned international standard badminton courts, a professional coaching team, and comprehensive medical and rehabilitation care within The O2 Bangkok complex, an investment exceeding 200 million baht by Lumrit. The Sapsiree Badminton Academy and The O2 Bangkok plan a full launch in June this year.
Porporo Sapsiree Taerattanachai spoke about developing Thailand's first professional badminton training center: "Throughout my professional athletic career, I deeply understand that what is crucial for young Thai athletes is having international standard courts and comprehensive support—from training to injury treatment and rehabilitation."
"We want to create an academy that offers youth the opportunity to fully develop their potential, train on competition-level courts, receive guidance from professional coaches, and have immediate access to medical and physical therapy teams in one place to help athletes recover and return to competition."
"This is why I chose to open the academy at The O2 Bangkok—it meets all our needs. We have seven fully air-conditioned international standard courts with premium shock-absorbing flooring to reduce knee injuries, alongside a modern medical clinic and physical therapy center in the same building. Athletes receive truly comprehensive care without needing to go elsewhere."
"As the academy director, I have selected a professional coaching team to design training programs that maximize the young athletes’ potential. I am ready to bring my competitive experience and industry knowledge to elevate Thai youth athletes to the world stage."
Dr. Manop Silalert, CEO and co-founder of The O2 Bangkok, said, "What sets The O2 Bangkok apart from typical sports venues is having a modern medical clinic and physical therapy center within the same building as the sports facilities."
"Young athletes training at the Sapsiree Badminton Academy receive support from professional coaches, health screenings to prevent injuries, and if injured, immediate treatment at Suklert Clinic. Then they follow rehabilitation programs with physical therapists and return to the same courts under seamless medical and coaching supervision."
"This approach reduces chronic injuries that often force young athletes to quit sports and helps them recover faster and stronger. We aim to position The O2 Bangkok as the only youth sports center in Southeast Asia specializing in sports rehabilitation."
"We are committed to promoting a healthier Thai society under the mission 'Move Better, Feel Younger, Live Longer' because proper movement and muscle building improve health. By consistently caring for our bodies, we can enjoy a longer, quality life."
The O2 Bangkok covers 10,200 square meters over four floors, including the Sapsiree Badminton Academy led by Porporo; an air-conditioned basketball court by FYB Basketball Academy with professional-grade shock-absorbing wooden flooring.
It also features a five-a-side football field by FYB Football Academy operated by Fei Yue Asia, PRIMALAPE 24-hour AI-managed fitness center—the first in Thailand—Suklert Clinic, an outdoor 25-meter hydrotherapy pool, a food court offering diverse healthy menu options, spacious parking, and plans to introduce massage and spa services in the future.
The O2 Bangkok aims to become Bangkok’s premier performance and recovery center and an internationally recognized health and lifestyle landmark. In the long term, it plans to go public and expand franchise branches nationwide and across Southeast Asia, bringing the integrated "medical care-sports-rehabilitation" model to other key areas, raising Thailand's sports rehabilitation standards globally and sustainably developing the next generation of Thai athletes for the world stage.
