
Air Force claimed two championships, while the Nan pair celebrated victory in the national beach techball.
The 2026 National Beach Techball Championship took place from 20-21 February 2026 at Jomtien Beach, Pattaya, Chonburi Province. A total of 77 athletes from 44 teams across Thailand competed in three categories: women's doubles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles. This event marked the first time techball was held on a beach court in the country.
Late on 21 February, the competition reached its final day with highlights in the finals of all three categories. In the first women's doubles final, the Pokpok Kodkak team featured "Pom" Areeya Homdee, a top Thai female striker, paired with "Singto" Bandita Pumisaku. Together, they had won the women's doubles gold at the 2024 National Games in Chanthaburi. They faced Air Force Women 1, consisting of "Nit" Supawadee Wongkamchan, a three-time women's doubles world champion, paired with "Paeng" Panida Yuencheewit. Both were the reigning Thai national women's doubles champions.
In the first set, Air Force played aggressively and solidly, making it difficult for their opponents to score, quickly taking the lead 12-4 to win the set 1-0. In the second set, Areeya and Bandita from Pokpok improved their performance, scoring several points on serve and pushing the set to a close finish. However, Supawadee and Panida remained steadier, winning 12-9. The match ended with Air Force Women 1 defeating Pokpok Kodkak 2-0 in sets (12-4, 12-9), claiming their first national beach techball women's doubles title. Chiang Mai Techball and Air Force Women 1 teams shared third place.
In the men's doubles final, Air Force Women 3 featured "Tum" Jeerati Chanliang, a Thai national male striker and 2025 men's doubles world championship runner-up, paired with "Kem" Charatsang Paengno, a former Thai national player. They faced the National Sports University Chiang Mai team with "Bamboo" Ketsada Mahasaksit, a rising techball star who recently won silver in men's doubles at the 2026 Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, paired with Alit Khetphatichlot. The pair from Chiang Mai were the recent Thai national men's doubles runners-up.
This match was clearly dominated by the Air Force side. Tum Jeerati’s striking moves overwhelmed the National Sports University Chiang Mai duo, leading Air Force Women 3 to a 2-0 victory with scores of 12-5 and 12-4, capturing the national men's doubles title. The joint third place went to Nakhon Pathom Municipal Sports School and the Army Team T20.
The final match was the mixed doubles final, featuring the Nan Provincial Sports Association with "Sao" Wannathika Innnu, a rising Thai female techball star, paired with "Titan" Prakasit Namliwan, a young athlete who won men's doubles gold at the 2024 National Games. They faced Navy Team T20, which included "Ton Navy" Pakpong Dechjaroen, a veteran Thai national and 2024 mixed doubles world champion, paired with "New" Fuangfa Saetao, a promising young player from Nan Province.
In the first set, Navy performed to expectations, with Ton Navy striking powerfully and impressively for the crowd, helping his team win the set 12-7. In the second set, Wannathika and Prakasit improved their teamwork, taking an early lead of 4-1. During this set, Pakpong from Navy suffered a minor injury, giving the Nan team an opportunity to catch up and win 12-6, leveling the match 1-1. In the deciding set, the younger Nan team played more carefully and steadily, scoring gradually to win 12-9. The Nan Provincial Sports Association defeated Navy Team T20 2-1 in sets (7-12, 12-6, 12-9), claiming the first national mixed doubles beach techball championship. Joint third place went to Nakhon Ratchasima Municipal Sports School and Suankularb Wittayalai Rangsit School teams.
