"Two Wheels" presented an excellent performance report at the 2026 Annual General Meeting, achieving great success both in domestic competitions and international tournaments throughout 2025. Member clubs expressed their admiration. “Sergeant Major Muek” revealed that the Cycling Association is moving forward with training the cyclists for the 20th Asian Games immediately, aiming to secure medals.

“Sergeant Major Muek,” General Decha Hemkrasri, Vice President of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), President of the ASEAN Cycling Federation (ACF), and President of the Cycling Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, chaired the 2026 Annual General Meeting held in the Buhnga Room at the Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel. Forty-four member clubs participated out of a total of 50, exceeding the quorum requirement of half according to Article 35 of the association’s regulations. The meeting was also observed by Mr. Nares Tiebchaiphan, Director of the Sports Association Registration Division, Legal Department, Sports Authority of Thailand, and Ms. Kamolwan Suthibutr, Head of Sports Association Registration for Bangkok, Legal Department, Sports Authority of Thailand.

The key points of the meeting were summarized as follows: The president informed the attendees that in 2025, the Cycling Association organized the Thailand Cycling Championships for various categories, including road, mountain bike, track, and BMX, each with five rounds. They also held the Thailand Open for mountain bike cross-country and road cycling, with four rounds each, totaling 28 events. Additionally, there were five rounds of the Thailand Little Pedal Pushers Championship.

Under the leadership of General Decha Hemkrasri, the Cycling Association of Thailand experienced great success in 2025 across domestic competitions, international contests, sending athletes abroad, and personnel development programs. Notably, General Decha was re-elected as one of the 12 executive members of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) for the 2025-2028 term, serving as Senior Vice President, the key position after the president. He was also appointed as Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, marking an honor and pride for Thai cycling. This year stands out as a milestone with him holding two significant positions simultaneously.

Regarding the financial status of the Cycling Association of Thailand, the 2025 balance sheet, ending 31 December 2025 and audited by JS Inter Audit Company Limited, showed total income of 154,291,384.89 baht and total expenses of 125,181,210.50 baht, resulting in a surplus of 3,190,174.39 baht.

The Cycling Association is preparing athletes to participate in the 20th Asian Games in Japan this September, planning to compete in all cycling disciplines: road, track, BMX, and mountain biking, covering 13 of the 20 events. Selection is based on performance at the 33rd SEA Games, where the team won 10 gold, 7 silver, and 3 bronze medals. Athlete training camps will begin on 1 March.

General Decha revealed that at the 2026 Annual General Meeting, the Cycling Association presented its 2025 achievements and financial statements to member clubs and sponsors, emphasizing transparent and honest spending. He noted ongoing challenges in funding international competitions needed to accumulate world ranking points for Olympic qualification at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, stating that a significant budget shortfall remains. Despite not yet knowing when the Sports Authority of Thailand will approve funding, athlete training for the 20th Asian Games began on 1 March to meet medal targets.

“Regarding the National Sports Development Fund directly providing allowances, meals, and accommodation to athletes, we will test the benefits and drawbacks during the 7th Asian Beach Games in China and the 41st National Youth Games in Surat Thani. Afterwards, relevant agencies and sports associations will discuss and decide on guidelines to further develop national sports,” General Decha stated.

Mr. Aphai Chantanajulka, Honorary Advisor to the Cycling Association of Thailand, praised the association’s activities under General Decha Hemkrasri’s leadership, highlighting their excellent achievements. Significantly, the association received royal patronage from His Majesty the King and all members of the royal family, who bestowed trophies to winners in various categories. The team’s outstanding performance at the 33rd SEA Games earned 10 gold, 7 silver, and 3 bronze medals. General Decha’s appointments to international organizations and as Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, along with receiving the 2025 Father of the Year Award, reflect the association’s consistent excellence. He encouraged other sports associations to study the Cycling Association’s development plans to achieve success from youth to grassroots levels.

Ms. Kamolwan Suthibutr, representative from the Sports Authority of Thailand, said the 2026 Annual General Meeting of the Cycling Association proceeded smoothly and in accordance with regulations. She noted the cooperation among board members and member clubs, as well as the well-prepared documentation. The association received the highest evaluation score of 5.0 in all aspects for the 2025 fiscal year’s Excellence Development assessment, ranking it as an outstanding sports association. She requested the association submit the meeting minutes within 15 days, and financial statements and operational plans within 30 days, as per regulations.
