Do You Agree? Former Lawyer Supports Bhumjaithai Partys Move to Separate Ministry of Sports from Tourism (Video)

Captain Nerd highlights three key points after the Bhumjaithai Party considers separating the Ministry of Tourism from Sports.

On 10 March 2026, Captain Nerd, a former lawyer and political and legal content creator, analyzed three important points after the Bhumjaithai Party proposed separating the Ministry of Tourism from Sports and restructuring ministries.

The first point is his clear stance:

"I strongly agree with separating Tourism from Sports because both ministries require completely different management skills."

Although he acknowledges that sports can promote tourism, he believes, "For me, allowing each to grow independently is the best solution; they should never have been combined in the first place. I commend the Bhumjaithai government for doing this."

The next point concerns which agency Tourism should be merged with after separation. He sees several options and supports merging it with Transport, as in Japan, to develop travel infrastructure alongside tourism.

However, the Bhumjaithai Party proposes merging "Tourism and Culture," which he views not as the top choice but as a viable option if culture can be made more accessible and not limited to traditional images.

The final point is about the future of the Ministry of Sports—whether it will merge with another ministry or remain standalone. He emphasizes that this restructuring will not increase the number of ministries.

"The number of ministries will not increase; it may even decrease if Sports merges with another ministry. If Sports remains standalone, the total number stays the same."

He concluded humorously, "If Bhumjaithai succeeds in separating Tourism from Sports, I’ll buy a vest to wear for my content creation."

It remains to be seen whether the plan to merge the Tourism and Culture ministries and the future role of the Ministry of Sports will actually take place.
