The 5th IPSC shotgun selection match in Ubon Ratchathani was lively, with Thanawadee hitting the target to win the women's Modified Division championship.
The IPSC Thailand Shooting Association, in collaboration with the IPSC Ubon Ratchathani Shooting Association, jointly organized the 2026 Ubon Ratchathani IPSC Handgun-Shotgun Championship at the IPSC Shooting Range in Ubon Ratchathani from 14 to 15 March 2026. The competition featured 61 handgun shooters and 80 shotgun shooters. Notably, the shotgun match served as the 5th of 7 selection rounds for Thailand's national IPSC shotgun team, aiming to compete at the 2026 World IPSC Shotgun Championship in Greece this September.
In this match, every shooter gave their best effort as the cumulative scores in each division were very close. Competitors fought hard to claim the championship, especially in the women's Modified Division, where Thanawadee Pheakyam, the 2023 world champion, successfully defended her title as expected.
The winners in other categories were: Open Division Men - Pol. Lt. Wisit Sriyaphai; Women - Miss Pimmada Lertkhai; Standard Auto Division Men - Mr. Pongpol Kulchairatna; Women - Miss Panicha Siriwongdecha; Standard Manual Division Men - Mr. Wisanu Puanglamjiak; Modified Division Men - Mr. Watcharaphol Charoendeeakul.
After the competition, Mr. Woraphon Kulchairatna, Vice President of the association, expressed gratitude to the Ubon Ratchathani Shooting Association for organizing the event well and impressing all the athletes. He explained that this match is part of the national team selection process for the world championship in Greece this September. The overall ranking will be based on the best four scores out of seven matches.
"It is encouraging that these five matches have attracted many athletes interested in the selection process. The remaining two matches will be held next week at the Samut Prakan Shooting Association, and the final international-level match will also take place at the association's range in early April," the Vice President said.
