The court sentenced Tokyogurl and Cheerio to six months in prison without suspension.
On 17 March 2026, Tokyogurl, a female player on Thailand's national RoV team, was suspected of using a stand-in player to boost her reputation and attempting to cheat in the 2025 SEA Games competition.
Earlier, Cheerio, also known as Kong, a male RoV player linked as the stand-in, admitted the truth himself. On 2 January 2027, he posted on his personal TikTok account confirming his involvement in using a third party to play on his behalf, as reported previously, and officially apologized to the public.
Meanwhile, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) under the Crime Suppression Division announced the results of "Ghost Buster Operation" targeting e-sports cheating at the 2025 SEA Games. They searched and prosecuted the suspects for "collaborating to knowingly bypass computer access protection measures set by others and unlawfully disclosing information in a way likely to cause harm to others, and unlawfully accessing protected computer data without authorization."
Recently, the court sentenced Tokyogurl and Cheerio to six months in prison without suspension. However, since the defendants pleaded guilty, the court halved the sentence to three months and converted it to a three-month detention.
Regarding their future as national athletes, Mr. Santi Lhotong, president of the Thailand Esports Sports Association, has already confirmed that both will be banned from all competitions sanctioned by the association.
