The Olympic Committee partners with UNFPA and HiSoParty to launch the "Sports Rights and Safety Protection Foundation," uniting leading celebrities and business figures to create new standards for Thailand's sports industry.
Bangkok – The Olympic Committee of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, together with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and HiSoParty, announced a historic collaboration during a charity event to launch the "Sports Rights and Safety Protection Foundation in Thailand" (Safeguarding in Sports Thailand Foundation). The foundation focuses on protecting rights, improving welfare, and establishing a Safe Sport system at the residence of Ms. Usanee Mahakit Siri Leono.
This alliance was honored by Dr. Suwanna Silpa-archa, Vice President of the Olympic Committee of Thailand and founder of the foundation, who chaired the ceremony alongside Ms. Sirilak Chiangwong from UNFPA and Ms. Priyamol Thanavisut from HiSoParty. Ms. Usanee Mahakit Siri Leono, project advisor, generously provided the venue and catering for the fundraising event.
The giving spirit of leading figures and world sports legends created a highly engaging atmosphere at the event, attracting top businesspeople, actors, and well-known celebrities eager to be part of social progress. Leading the support were Thai icons Christina Aguilar and Metinee Kingpayome, who showed their commitment to the foundation’s mission, along with Suriyon Sriorthayakul, who led fundraising activities and auctions of prized memorabilia from legendary athletes. All proceeds, with no deductions, were donated to the foundation. Highlights of the charity event and distinguished guests included:
• Sit Down Luncheon: Guests engaged in conversations and auctioned cherished items from beloved Thai athletes Chanathip Sonkham and Pradit Sriphan, amidst a crowd of VVIP attendees gathered for this charitable cause.
• High Tea Session: Fundraising continued alongside world-class tennis player Danai Udomchoke, marking a historic milestone in advancing Thai sports.
Dr. Suwanna Silpa-archa emphasized, “Athletic success must be based on safety and human dignity. The collaboration of these three organizations, along with support from partners across sectors—including actors, business leaders, and celebrities—is a crucial step toward elevating governance in Thai sports to genuinely international standards.”
The foundation’s launch marks the beginning of creating safe spaces and promoting quality of life for Thai athletes, aiming for sustainable and dignified progress in Thailand’s sports sector.
