
The Practical Shooting Association celebrated its 40th anniversary in grand style, pushing forward to advance athletes onto more international stages.
On 20 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the Practical Shooting Association of Thailand held a 40th anniversary banquet for the association and the 50th anniversary of the International Practical Shooting Federation at The Grand Fourwings Convention Hotel, amidst a warm and friendly atmosphere with over 400 members attending.
The event was honored by Associate Professor Pimol Srivikorn, Chairperson of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand under Royal Patronage, who co-chaired the event alongside Thana Chaiprasit, Vice President and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand; Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand; General Permsak Puangsaroj, President of the Practical Shooting Association of Thailand; Worawit Chuananan, representative from the International Practical Shooting Federation; and various association sponsors.
At the event, cash bonuses were awarded to the Thai practical shooting team members who achieved 3 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze medal at the 33rd SEA Games in December last year. The association contributed 300,000 baht, with an additional 400,000 baht sponsored by Platinum Flute Company Limited, totaling 700,000 baht in bonuses.
On this occasion, the association also presented blazers to eight athletes who have consistently shown outstanding performance, development, and brought honor to the association and the nation. These included:
Outstanding male athletes: Areef Ila, Police Lieutenant Colonel Hasanat Wijitpatima, Veerawit Charukiapongsa, Siriwut Detsuwan; outstanding female athletes: Police Lieutenant Patcharin Inhom, Thanawadee Pheakyam; outstanding youth athletes: Siraphop Hemmala, Kanyanat Prasertcharoensuk.
Additionally, honorary blazers were awarded to four former athletes and contributors to practical shooting sports: Wat Srichintongkool, Worawit Chuananan, Tawisak Singsombun, and Kachane Kiakkajorn.
General Permsak Puangsaroj, president of the association, expressed gratitude to the Chairperson of the National Olympic Committee, the Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, several deputy governors, association sponsors, and warmly welcomed members attending the event.
This year, the association plans to send the national team to compete in the Practical Shotgun World Championship in Greece in September. In 2027 CE, Thailand will host the Australasia Practical Pistol Championship and is expected to participate in the 34th SEA Games hosted by Malaysia.
