Rewadee Srithao expressed concern that product prices rise and refuse to drop, even more than the increase in oil prices.
On 26 Mar 2026, a widely discussed topic among the public was the oil price hike of 6 baht per liter, effective since 05:00 that morning.
Referencing the latest prices from the PTT gas station.
Gasohol 95: Price 41.05 baht per liter.
Gasohol E20: Price 36.05 baht per liter.
Gasohol E85: Price 32.79 baht per liter.
Gasohol 91: Price 40.68 baht per liter.
Gasohol 95 Premium: Price 52.04 baht per liter.
Benzene 95: Price 49.64 baht per liter.
Diesel: Price 38.94 baht per liter.
Premium Diesel: Price 54.64 baht per liter.
However, before the official 6 baht per liter price increase, Rewadee Srithao, former Thai national track athlete, posted that while oil prices fluctuate up and down, the more important issue is that product prices rise but never decrease accordingly.
Rewadee posted the message: “#ComeOnBrotherTodayIHavetoBuy20,000Liters”.
“Today, walking past the gas station on my way to work, I shouted to the attendant asking if diesel had arrived. He said yes, brother, there are 20,000 liters today, so I’m relieved. I’ve experienced diesel prices nearing 40 baht before. More importantly, it’s not the oil prices but the prices of major store products that have already increased. When I bought supplies for the children’s Swim Summer project I organize, many items had already risen in price. The point is, once prices go up, they never come down when things return to normal. That’s a much bigger concern.”
