The "Toyota - WGP One Waterjet Pro Tour Thailand 2026" season-opening event crowned its first champion with #77 Kasem Luenkasem from Burapha University winning the university category at Nong Khai.
The Thai Jet Ski Championship 2026 season kicked off grandly with the "Toyota - WGP One Waterjet Pro Tour Thailand 2026" (TOYOTA - WGP#1 Waterjet Pro Tour Thailand 2026) held over four thrilling days from Thursday, 2 April to Sunday, 5 April 2026 at Nong Khai Lake in Wat That Subdistrict Municipality, Nong Khai Province, a vital lung of Northeast Thailand. The Jet Ski Sports Association of Thailand and WGP#1 as organizers collaborated with Nong Khai Province authorities, including Governor Saransak Srikruenat, Nong Khai Provincial Administrative Organization President Wuttikrai Changlek, and Wat That Subdistrict Municipality Mayor Pramot Suksawat, the local landowner. The event also received support from the Sports Authority of Thailand, National Sports Development Fund, Siam Watercraft, and the Government Lottery Office, staging a grand competition.
In the afternoon, competitions were held for youth and slalom classes at the WGP#3 level. The day's highlight was the university category 1-Lap Slalom University 17 - 22 Yrs. SEADOO Spark "Stock" class, featuring 18 competitors from 10 universities. Kasem Luenkasem from Burapha University, Chanthaburi Campus, won the category with times of 1:47.06 and 1:46.68, earning a full 40 points and claiming the first championship of the "Nong Khai Grand Prix 2026."
For the university category, official points for the Thailand Championship will be counted starting from rounds 2 to 4 (three rounds total). The first round in Nong Khai served as a warm-up and experience-gathering event. Nevertheless, the Jet Ski Sports Association of Thailand awarded the first round champion title of the "Nong Khai Grand Prix 2026."
