Sports Insider Jane Piyatat Announces Candidacy for Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand

"Jane Piyatat," founder and advisory chairman of the Granular Badminton Club, announced his candidacy for the position of "Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand," promoting the campaign "Thai Sports Advancing with the Heart of a Professional Mentor."

On 3 April 2026, "Jane Piyatat," founder and advisory chairman of the Granular Badminton Club, announced his candidacy for the position of "Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand."

Mr. Jane posted on his personal Facebook page, Jane Piyatat, saying, "Greetings to everyone in the sports community and all Thai people."

Today, I, Jane Piyatat, firmly declare my intention to submit my candidacy for selection as the new Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT).

Why do I dare to nominate myself? The answer is not just love for sports, but because I believe the "Governor of SAT" is the key as a "professional mentor" to all sports associations in Thailand. The person who can perform this role well must have the "DNA" of a sports person who deeply understands the duties involved.

Throughout my life journey, I have accumulated experience that cannot be found in books but comes from hands-on involvement in every dimension of the sports industry.

1. As a club executive, I understand the mindset of team managers. Leading athletes to compete domestically and internationally has shown me the obstacles and opportunities in creating champions. Additionally, I have supported athletes to compete until reaching the top spot in the world junior women's badminton rankings, including “Mew” Pornpawee Chochuwong, now Thailand’s top female singles player.

2. As an event organizer, I understand management systems, international standards, and how to create valuable sports events. Recently, I chaired the organization of the High School League football competition to promote youth competing professionally from an early age.

3. As a media professional and photographer for the Badminton World Federation (BWF), I have witnessed behind-the-scenes success of international sports organizations and know how to communicate the image of Thai sports to the global audience.

4. As a spectator, I understand the expectations of sports fans, who are the fundamental driving force behind the nation’s sports momentum, providing the “wind beneath the wings” for athletes to fly higher and further.

This 360-degree experience—as a competitor, organizer, spectator, and administrator—is a crucial factor I will use to elevate SAT into an organization that supports sports associations with accessibility, understanding, and sustainable progress toward global excellence.

I present a strategic concept plan under the campaign "Thai Sports Advancing with the Heart of a Professional Mentor" (The Pro-Mentor for Thai Sports).

1. Vision: Make SAT a supportive hub—not just a rule-maker but a partner alongside sports associations to achieve global success and stimulate the creative economy through sports.

2. Four Pillars of Excellence:

- Empower Associations: Elevate SAT’s role to proactive mentoring, helping associations manage budgets and resources efficiently. - Global Standards: Apply global experience (e.g., from BWF) to raise competition standards in Thailand to international levels (Sport Tourism & World-Class Events). - Data-Driven Development: Use data from observations as media and organizer to analyze strengths and weaknesses of Thai athletes for targeted support. - Inspirational Communication: Convey Thai sports stories to touch fans’ hearts, creating popularity and attracting private sector investment.

3. Competitive Advantages:

- Real Experience: Management based not on desk work but on hands-on field experience both domestically and internationally. - Global Connections: Relationships and insight into the operations of global sports organizations. - Multidisciplinary Insight: Balanced understanding of the needs of all sectors (associations, athletes, media, spectators).

With my knowledge, abilities, and past experience, I am confident and believe I can serve effectively as the Governor of SAT to develop and elevate Thai sports.

Thank you to everyone for your encouragement and support.
