Theo-Sirikorn Named Player of the Year at Krutthasas Playoff, SAT-GPS Final

Theo-Sirikorn claimed the Player of the Year title at the Krutthasas Playoff, the final championship of the SAT-GPS Junior Tour.

Krutthasas Hamilton, a young golfer from Bangkok, secured the men's varsity title by sinking a birdie putt in a hole-by-hole playoff after battling closely with Warut Boonrod, the two-day leader who finished the final round without scoring changes, ending with a three-day total even par 216. In the women's varsity division, Kotchakorn Nimnuan won with a three-day total score of 4 over par 220. Tae Yu from South Korea and Sirikorn Somprakorn earned the Player of the Year honors for men and women respectively in the SAT-PGS Junior Tour youth golf competition wrapping up the 2026 season from 3-5 April 2026 at Palm Hill Golf Club & Residence, a par-72 course in Cha-am District, Phetchaburi Province. The final round took place on Sunday, 5 April 2026.

Golf Performance Solutions organized the SAT-GPS Junior Tour 2026 youth golf tournament, supported primarily by the Sports Authority of Thailand and various private sponsors. The event featured a 54-hole stroke play competition over three days, held across three courses. This was the final event of the 2026 season, divided into male and female categories with different age groups: Varsity (ages 13-19), playing 54 holes over three days, and Junior Varsity (ages 10-12), playing 36 holes over two days.

In the final round on Sunday, 5 April 2026, the men's varsity category concluded after 54 holes with a tense finish. Warut Boonrod, who led after the first two days, stumbled with a 4-over-par 76, while Krutthasas Hamilton improved with a 2-under-par 70. This resulted in a tied total score of even par 216, leading to a hole-by-hole playoff at the 18th hole, par 4. The playoff extended to three holes, where Krutthasas Hamilton clinched the championship by sinking a 9-foot birdie putt. Warut Boonrod took second place, and Sartsilp Chanthaurai finished third with a total score of 2 over par 218.

After the competition, Krutthasas said, "I feel relieved after achieving this. Today, I played well on the par 5 but missed the line. I admit the course was tough, the greens challenging, and the wind strong. After 18 holes, I was nervous, my hands shaking, so I had to focus and calm myself. I felt confident on the final putt because I saw the line clearly. I haven't won like this in a long time."

In the women's varsity division, Kotchakorn Nimnuan, who trailed by two strokes, staged a comeback with a final round 1-under-par 71, finishing with a total score of 4 over par 220. Tharpirun Namphaiboon, who scored a total 11 under par 227 today, shared second place with Choi Lynn from South Korea and Nattharada Pipitthanabun.

In the Junior Varsity boys' category, champion was Thanabodin Saithawee with a total score of 12 over par 156. The Junior Varsity girls' title went to Siriyakorn Sararit, who finished with a total score of 32 over par 176.

At the conclusion of all three events, the Player of the Year awards for 2026 were announced. Tae Yu from South Korea earned the men's title with a cumulative 64 points, while the women's honor went to Sirikorn Somprakorn, who scored 92 points.

The award ceremony was honored by Nitaya Koedchantuek, Director of the Office of the Professional Sports Commission, who presented the awards to the athletes in each category.
