
Honda Racing Thailand completed their first day of practice, moving forward with strategy adjustments for their riders ahead of the first round of the Asian Championship in Malaysia.
Honda Racing Thailand’s team of Thai riders took to the track for the first practice session after facing transport issues that caused them to miss preseason testing. The team has been working diligently to prepare and find the optimal bike setup to improve performance for the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship 2026 Round 1 at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, on Friday, 10 April 2026.
In the Asia Superbike 1000cc class, the top category, Thailand’s sole rider Nakarin Athiratphuvapat (Chip), number 41, aimed for the Asian championship title this year. During three test sessions, Chip posted his best lap time of 2:06.830 minutes in Free Practice 2, securing a spot in the top 8 of the combined timing sheet.
In the Supersport 600cc class, Thailand pushed their riders to elevate performance this season, fielding bikes alongside Thanat Laongpliu (Mix), number 31. Despite a crash in Free Practice 2, Mix managed his best lap time of 2:12.038 minutes in Free Practice 3, ranking 9th overall. Krisada Thanachot (Hypek), number 18, showed determination starting strong and set his fastest lap at 2:12.565 minutes, placing 11th.
In the Asia Production 250cc class, Honda promoted promising young Thai talent who had made excellent progress last year with a wildcard entry, now competing full season. Panjaruj Jitwirunchat (Fer), number 12, adapted quickly in all practice sessions, improving his time in Free Practice 3 to 2:25.975 minutes, holding 16th place overall.
The qualifying session to determine starting grid positions and the first race will take place on Saturday, 11 April, followed by Race 2 on Sunday, 12 April 2026.
