Thailands U-17 Rugby Team Triumphs to Win First President Cup by OR After Beating Malaysia 28-6

Thailand's under-17 rugby team surged to claim their first President Cup by OR championship after defeating Malaysia 28-6.

The Rugby Football Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, together with OR, organized the 15-a-side President Cup by OR rugby tournament, an international competition for under-17 players. This inaugural event featured three countries—Thailand, Malaysia, and Laos—competing in a round-robin format at the Air Force Sports Stadium (Thupatemee).

On 10 April, the final day of the competition, Thailand faced Malaysia. Both teams had previously beaten Laos, making this match effectively the final. The event was honored by the presence of Ms. Pichaporn Wongsri, Corporate Communications Manager at PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), and Pol. Lt. Col. Kulthan Prajuabmoa, president of the Rugby Football Association of Thailand, who attended to watch the match and present the awards.

The match ended with Thailand delivering an outstanding performance, dominating the game and winning 28-6 to rightfully claim the championship title.

After the game, Pol. Lt. Col. Kulthan Prajuabmoa revealed that the tournament was supported by OR in line with the 'One Sports Association, One State Enterprise' policy. He explained that the event was organized under the guidance of Pakaraphong Jaksurak, the association’s executive committee member in charge of competitions. Praising the team's performance, he said the young players showed great promise and represent Thailand’s future in both 7-a-side and 15-a-side rugby. He expressed gratitude to OR for recognizing the importance of providing development opportunities to youth athletes and confirmed that similar competitions will be held in the coming years.
