Kasem Bundit University Collaborates with Experts to Discuss Thailands Future Ministry of Sports

Kasem Bundit University collaborates with experts in a seminar discussing Thailand and the future Ministry of Sports.

Dr. Senee Suwandee, Vice President for Planning and Development at Kasem Bundit University, revealed that following the government's policy to integrate tourism with culture and the idea to separate sports from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Kasem Bundit University’s Human Capital Development Innovation Center, in partnership with network allies, has organized an academic seminar titled “Thailand: With the Future Ministry of Sports.” The event is scheduled for 14 May 2026 from 13:30 to 16:30 at the Patumchat Room, 23rd floor, Anoma Grand Hotel, Ratchadamri Road, Pathumwan District, Bangkok. Its purpose is to support government policy and encourage participation to reflect diverse perspectives on establishing the Ministry of Sports from all relevant sectors. The university is honored to have Khun Ying Patama Leeswadtrakul, member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and President of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), preside over the opening ceremony, with other distinguished guests invited. To ensure the seminar addresses government needs and benefits agencies preparing for the future Ministry of Sports, expert speakers from various sectors and professions—including sports executives, social scientists, economists, and media representatives—will be invited. "Pa Pae" Khun Yutthapong Wichaidit, former director and sports news presenter at MCOT FM 99, Muang Thai Khaeng Raeng station, will moderate the discussion. To promote participation and public awareness, the seminar will be broadcast live online via Facebook and various media outlets, including Kasem Bundit University’s Human Capital Development Innovation Center’s Facebook page.

Associate Professor Dr. Ratpong Boonyanuwat, Director of the Human Capital Development Innovation Center at Kasem Bundit University, added that the seminar “Thailand and the Future Ministry of Sports,” featuring knowledgeable and experienced expert speakers from diverse professions, is an important project in which the center and its network partners actively participate. This initiative aims to benefit the sports sector and Thai society. Importantly, the views and ideas from the expert panel will be compiled and submitted to the government through the Prime Minister as a data foundation to support the preparation for establishing the Ministry of Sports. Updates on the project will be provided periodically.
