An IOC delegation arrived in Thailand to inspect venues in Chonburi, preparing to present the area's potential as host for the Youth Olympic Games Bangkok 2030.
On 29 April 2026, Mrs. Danka Hrbékova, member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Chair of the Youth Olympic Games 2030 Working Group, along with her delegation, joined representatives from the Sports Authority of Thailand and the National Olympic Committee of Thailand (NOCT) for an official visit to Chonburi Province.
The itinerary focused on inspecting venues for maritime and outdoor events proposed for the competition, including the Thai Polo and Equestrian Club; Sattahip Navy House Hotel (proposed as an extension of the athlete village); Jomtien Beach (proposed for beach handball, modern pentathlon, rowing, triathlon, and beach wrestling); Ocean Marina Yacht Club (proposed for sailing and windsurfing events); and the Thai Country Club, designated for golf competitions.
In attendance was Tricia Smith (second from left), a four-time Olympian, Olympic silver medalist, and former Vice President of the International Rowing Federation (FISA), who also joined the venue inspections.
