The live Facebook broadcast attracted over 8,000 viewers.
The 2026 Thailand Track Cycling Championships for the Queen Sirikit Trophy, Round 2, took place from 1-3 May 2026 at the Velodrome within the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) in Huamark. The opening ceremony on 1 May was honored by General Decha Hemkrasae, Deputy Chairman of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), President of the ASEAN Cycling Federation (ACF), and President of the Cycling Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, who presided over the event with the association's executive committee. The event was broadcast live via Facebook Live on the Thailand Cycling Association and TCA Channel pages, as well as on YouTube: TCA Channel, drawing a combined audience of over 8,000 viewers.
After the opening ceremony, General Decha revealed that the Cycling Association would evaluate athletes aged 15-17 to prepare them for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games from 31 October to 13 November 2026 in Senegal. While cycling events traditionally focus on road races, there is a possibility that the host will add track cycling competitions, so preparations are underway. Additionally, youth athletes are using this opportunity to test their skills before competing in the 41st National Youth Games in Surat Thani Province from 7-17 May.
General Decha added that athletes competing across all five rounds with the highest cumulative points will be crowned Thailand champions and awarded the royal trophy, a prestigious honor for the athletes themselves, their families, and their educational institutions. Importantly, this also helps bring up new young talent to succeed the older generation. Despite current economic challenges, including rising fuel prices, member clubs have enthusiastically sent many athletes to compete in this event to develop their teams. The public is invited to follow the live broadcasts on Facebook Live via the Thailand Cycling Association and TCA Channel, as well as YouTube: TCA Channel throughout the three-day competition.
