Phuriphon Boonsorn, the young sprinter of Thailand's national team, revealed his key goals for this year after resuming training with his coach. He was assigned to write down the objectives he wants to achieve this year, and he clearly stated his aim to improve his personal bests in both the 100m and 200m events, with a goal to break the Asian records in both.
On 7 May 2026 GMT+7, the teenage Thai national sprinter disclosed that his current target for the 100m is 9.80 seconds, while for the 200m he aims for a time around 19.6 to 19.7 seconds, which he considers his highest goal to reach.
“When my coach returned, he asked me to write down my goals for this year. I wrote that I want to improve my personal records in both the 100m and 200m, and also to break the Asian records in both events,” Biw said.
Additionally, Phuriphon Boonsorn spoke about his experiences from past competitions, especially the Asian Games in China. He admitted that at that time he lacked experience in many aspects, but now he has learned and corrected various mistakes, becoming better prepared than before.
“I have competed in several events, including the Asian Games in China. Back then, I didn’t have enough experience, but now I have learned a lot and fixed my weaknesses. This year’s Asian Games, I hope to win the gold medal,” the young Thai sprinter concluded.
