The "Bluewave Sharks" Chonburi futsal team unveiled their "LEGACY" theme to celebrate their 20th anniversary, aiming to win a double championship and reclaim their 12th title.
Chonburi – 10 May 2026 GMT+7: Bluewave Chonburi, a powerhouse in Thai futsal, held a grand press conference at Bluewave Arena (Chonburi Municipal Stadium) to launch their 2026 season under the concept “LEGACY.” This marks the club’s 20th anniversary celebration and announces their readiness to pursue their 12th Thai League title and the FA Cup trophy.
Thatchapat Benjasiriwan, chairman of Bluewave Chonburi, spoke about the team’s direction on this special occasion: “This year is very special for us as it marks 20 years since the club’s founding and the creation of many legends. The ‘LEGACY’ theme this season is not just about recalling past successes but about maintaining standards and passing on the winning spirit from generation to generation. Although our squad includes players from multiple generations, which is a challenging mix to synchronize, we firmly believe the Bluewave spirit will make us strong and lead us to sustainable success, bringing joy to our Chonburi fans once again.”
Regarding their goals for the 2026 season, the club has a rigorous plan focusing first on securing a playoff spot. This will provide the opportunity to compete for their 12th Thai Futsal League title, as well as to reclaim the Futsal FA Cup, which returns to competition this year. Currently, the team consists of 21 players combining experienced veterans and promising young talents, with plans to strengthen the squad further in the second leg for optimal performance.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Jungthapnel, the club’s director, added that returning to Chonburi Municipal Stadium as their home ground this year will be key to victory: “This stadium holds a special charm and long-standing familiarity between the team and fans. We believe the close atmosphere and powerful cheers will help the team’s daily fine-tuning be more effective and attract even more supporters to follow us.”
Additionally, the event featured the launch of three new kits by the brand JOMA, as well as a campaign offering benefits to fans, such as season tickets and membership cards. Later this evening at 18:00 GMT+7, the "Bluewave Sharks" will kick off their home season opener against Surat Thani Futsal Club in the MEA Futsal Thai League 2026, playing in front of a packed crowd of supporters.
