
Kiattisak Singhapong, a determined Thai rider, fought hard to collect crucial points, holding a leading position in the overall standings of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup 2026.
The Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup 2026 Round 2 took place at Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, France, from 8-10 May. "Mai Q" Kiattisak Singhapong, a rising star from Honda Racing Thailand with bike number 85, competed after recently achieving his first podium finish by placing third in Race 1 at the opening round in Jerez, Spain.
At Circuit de la Sarthe, Round 2, "Mai Q" Kiattisak faced a highly challenging track characterized by tight corners requiring mostly low gears, emphasizing the slowest braking and rapid acceleration out of turns. Additionally, rear tire grip was a critical challenge.
In Race 1 on Saturday, 9 May, "Mai Q" Kiattisak encountered a tough situation starting from 7th position but was pushed back to 11th early on. However, the young Thai rider steadily improved his pace, overtaking world-class rookies to finish 7th and earn 9 additional points.
Then, on Sunday, 10 May, in Race 2, despite being overtaken to 10th place early, "Mai Q" Kiattisak demonstrated world-class skill by increasing his speed to reach 3rd position.
"Mai Q" Kiattisak fought fiercely to maintain his position amid intense battles with top young riders worldwide. After several thrilling position exchanges, he unfortunately crashed on lap 9, forcing him to retire from the race.
After two rounds, "Mai Q" Kiattisak Singhapong has accumulated 34 points, ranking 7th in the rider standings. The next race will be held from 29-31 May at Mugello Circuit, Italy.
