The ACC has given the green light to the Thai Cycling Association to host the 2026 Asian Balance Bike Championship, marking the continent's first historic event of its kind.
“Sergeant Major Muek” revealed that the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) has approved Thailand to debut as host of the Asian Balance Bike 2026, the first-ever continental championship for young balance bike riders, scheduled for 6-7 June 2026 at Fashion Island. The event will also feature an open race allowing young riders to experience the atmosphere of an Asian-level competition, with several leading countries enthusiastically confirming their participation.
“Sergeant Major Muek,” General Decha Hemakasri, Vice President of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), President of the ASEAN Cycling Federation (ACF), and President of the Thai Cycling Association under Royal Patronage, disclosed that the Thai Cycling Association has received approval from the ACC to host the first-ever Asian Balance Bike Championship (Asian Balance Bike 2026). This continental-level event aims to encourage children and youth to engage in sports as a stepping stone toward future excellence. The association has collaborated with Dato Amrit Singh Gill, ACC President, to finalize competition rules, formats, age categories, dates, and the venue.
General Decha stated that the Asian Balance Bike 2026 will be held on 6-7 June 2026 at the Island Hall, 3rd floor of Fashion Island Shopping Mall on Ram Inthra Road. On 6 June, the championship races will feature young riders representing ACC member countries. On Sunday, 7 June, an open competition will provide an opportunity for young riders who missed national team selection to experience the competition and environment elevated to a continental level.
“Following discussions between the Thai Cycling Association and the ACC, the Asian Balance Bike 2026 will include 16 categories: under 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, 5 years, 6 years, 7 years, and 8-11 years, for both boys and girls. Age is determined by birth year, and each country may enter up to 10 athletes per category. The races will be held as circuit racing on tracks no longer than 300 meters.
