Somkiat Chantra, a Thai rider, is ready to compete in the 2026 World Superbike Round 5 and is preparing to make his debut at the Most Circuit.
"Kong" Somkiat Chantra, a top Thai rider from the Honda HRC team, is set to advance the performance of bike number 35, aiming for continuous improvement in the 2026 World Superbike Championship. He is preparing for Round 5, held from 15-17 May at the Automotodrom Most in the Czech Republic, known as one of the most challenging tracks in terms of character. This event will also mark his first time competing at this circuit.
The Thai rider will race alongside Japanese rider Yuki Kunii, number 92, once again after working together at the recent Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary. This will be another race where they fill in for British rider Jake Dixon, who is currently recovering from an injury.
Somkiat Chantra, who recently returned from injury in the previous race, is tasked with fine-tuning his bike’s setup at each event. The Thai rider has already scored points in two rounds: at the Algarve International Circuit in Portugal and the latest at Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary, which is an excellent sign for the team.
The 2026 World Superbike Championship Round 5 will begin with practice sessions on Friday, 15 May, followed by the superpole qualifying to determine the starting grid on Saturday, 16 May. Race 1 will take place that same day at 19:00 Thailand time. On Sunday, 17 May, the schedule includes the superpole race at 20:30 and concludes with Race 2 at 20:30.
