Nopparutphong Boonpraves is ready to prove his skills on the global stage in the Moto4 European Cup, with the first round set to ignite competition at Circuit de Barcelona, Spain.
Known as "Oom," Nopparutphong Boonpraves, number 98 and a rising star from Honda Racing Thailand, is preparing to gain experience on European soil in his first Moto4 European Cup season. He will compete under the Honda Asia-Dream Racing Junior Team banner, with the opening round at Circuit de Barcelona, Spain, from 22 to 24 May.
"Oom" Nopparutphong Boonpraves delivered an impressive performance in the 2025 season, competing in the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup where he achieved a podium finish by placing third in Race 1 at Buriram. He ended the season ranked fifth in Asia, accumulating a total of 120 points.
Following his notable results in the 2025 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup, young Thai rider Nopparutphong earned the opportunity to compete in the 2025 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship, Buriram Round 2, in the AP250 class. He showed strong form by securing third place in Race 1 and finishing as runner-up in Race 2.
Nopparutphong Boonpraves said, “This season, I am competing in both the Moto4 Asia Cup and the European Cup, which is a new experience for me. I have been training according to the Honda Racing Thailand program and continued my preparation in Spain. I’m learning things that I believe will be useful and can be applied during races.”
At the first round at Circuit de Barcelona, Spain, "Oom" Nopparutphong faces a significant challenge. The circuit features a well-rounded layout with long straights, high-speed and low-speed corners, and heavy braking zones that offer overtaking opportunities. Tire management is also a key factor influencing the performance of the Thai rider.
The 2026 Moto4 European Cup will consist of 7 rounds and 14 races, starting at Montmeló, Spain (22-24 May), Estoril, Portugal (12-14 June), Jerez de la Frontera, Spain (3-5 July), Magny-Cours, France (24-26 July), Caste, Spain (4-6 September), Alcañiz, Spain (25-27 September), and Misano Adriatico, Italy (16-18 October).
