Chadchart Runs 9 km Connecting Two Major Parks, Showcases Green Bridge as a Model Walkable City Project

From Lumphini Park to Benjakitti Park, a 9-kilometer route on a Sunday morning may be just a running path for health enthusiasts, but for Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Bangkok gubernatorial candidate number 9, it was a way to bring citizens to see tangible urban development achievements for themselves.

On 2 June 2026, Chadchart joined the "Run with Chadchart" event alongside a group of runners and the public, running a route connecting Lumphini Park and Benjakitti Park. The route was designed in the shape of the Thai numeral "๙" and the Arabic numeral "9," corresponding with his candidate number, covering a total distance of 9 kilometers.

However, what attracted attention was not just the number 9 gimmick but the run passing over the "Green Bridge," a pedestrian and bicycle structure linking two large green spaces in Bangkok.

Along the route, Chadchart greeted morning exercisers warmly, while the atmosphere was filled with cheers and smiles from participants. One runner said that although they began to feel tired, seeing Chadchart continue running gave them the motivation to finish the route.

The Green Bridge is one of the public space connection projects that has been continuously developed and restored to make it easier for Bangkok residents to walk, run, and cycle, while improving access to green spaces in the city center.

This event was not just a morning exercise but also reflected an urban development concept through public spaces, which Chadchart and his Bangkok team affirm they will continue to build on to improve citizens’ quality of life in the long term.
