
Thong Pha Phum is ready to welcome cyclists from across the country for the BMX Thailand Championship Round 4, which will be held there.
The BMX Thailand Championship for the Royal Trophy, Round 4, scheduled for 20-21 June, is already generating excitement even before the competition begins. The Director of Vajiralongkorn Dam and the Mayor of Thong Pha Phum Municipality have declared their full readiness to host and welcome cyclists and their entourages from all over the country amidst the beautiful natural surroundings of Thong Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi Province. Meanwhile, General Decha Hemakrasi anticipates many athletes competing to collect points toward the national championship.
General Decha Hemakrasi, Vice President of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), President of the ASEAN Cycling Federation (ACF), and President of the Cycling Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, revealed that the Cycling Association, together with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Vajiralongkorn Dam) and Thong Pha Phum Municipality, will organize the BMX Thailand Championship for the Royal Trophy of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for 2026, Round 4, on 20-21 June 2026 at the BMX track inside Saranchit Health Park, Vajiralongkorn Dam, Thong Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi Province.
General Decha stated that the BMX track was inaugurated by His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen during the opening ceremony of Saranchit Health Park on 7 January 2026. They also watched BMX cycling demonstrations by the Thai national cycling team and observed the Balance Bike and Pump Track areas. This royal visit is a great honor and blessing.
General Decha added that this is the fourth round of the championship and expects a large number of athletes to register, aiming to accumulate as many points as possible for a chance to win the national title. Athletes who have not yet booked accommodations are urged to do so quickly, as lodging in Thong Pha Phum District is limited. Reports indicate that many hotels and resorts are fully booked. Those without reservations may need to stay farther away. Cycling fans can watch live broadcasts of the event on the Thailand Cycling Association’s Facebook Live, TCA Channel, and YouTube channel throughout the two-day competition.
Mr. Sakon Aksornthanawat, Director of Vajiralongkorn Dam, expressed gratitude on behalf of the dam for the Cycling Association of Thailand’s continued trust in choosing Vajiralongkorn Dam as the venue for various national cycling championships over the years, including BMX, road, and mountain biking events. All cycling tracks at the dam are praised by riders as beautiful and challenging, set amid pristine natural surroundings and fresh air. He is confident that cyclists will be impressed. The BMX track is a standard facility certified by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), enabling it to host international-level competitions.
Mr. Sakon further noted that Vajiralongkorn Dam also offers accommodations, restaurants, and many tourist attractions to support athletes and visitors in enjoying activities with their families. For exercise, the dam provides a golf course, football field, shooting range, a 10.28-kilometer cycling route, and several photo spots. He invited athletes and their entourages to visit and relax at Vajiralongkorn Dam, assuring a warm welcome to all.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sarawut Srithandorn, Mayor of Thong Pha Phum Municipality, said the municipality has been entrusted by the Cycling Association to co-host the BMX Thailand Championship for several consecutive years. The BMX track at Vajiralongkorn Dam is beautiful, and Thong Pha Phum District offers many natural tourist attractions with a shady atmosphere surrounded by mountains and the Kwae Noi River. Visitors can explore various sites such as Wat Tha Khanun, Thong Pha Phum National Park, and the Kwae Riverside Market, a new tourist destination. He thanked the many athletes and their entourages for participating in the event, which has led to fully booked accommodations, increased income for local vendors, and a strong boost to the economy and tourism.
Athletes wishing to register for the BMX Thailand Championship for the Royal Trophy 2026, Round 4 at Vajiralongkorn Dam, can apply via the Cycling Association’s website at www.thaicycling.or.th from now until 18 June before 12:00 noon.
