“Kometh” Loses Final Moto to Junior but Still Claims BMX Championship at Round 4

“Kometh” stumbled, losing to a junior in the final moto, but still secured the overall BMX championship at Round 4 of the competition.

“Ae” Sergeant Major Kometh Sukprasert, a Thai national team cyclist preparing for the 20th Asian Games, faltered in the third moto when junior teammate "Om" Putthapoom Nakpan overtook him for the win. Despite this, Kometh accumulated the highest total points to win the BMX Thailand Championship Round 4. Meanwhile, Mr. Sakon Aksornthanawat, director of Vajiralongkorn Dam, affirmed full support for the event, providing a standard venue, facilities, and promoting tourism activities in Thong Pha Phum District. The combined viewership on Facebook Live and YouTube exceeded 21,000 views.

The BMX Thailand Championship, competing for the Royal Trophy of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Round 4 of 2026, took place from 20-21 June at the BMX track inside Saranchit Health Park, Vajiralongkorn Dam, Thong Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi Province. The final round on 21 June was broadcast live on Facebook Live by the Thailand Cycling Association and TCA Channel, as well as YouTube's TCA Channel, garnering over 21,000 viewers in total.

Mr. Sakon Aksornthanawat, director of Vajiralongkorn Dam, revealed that the dam has co-hosted the BMX Thailand Championship for three consecutive years since the track was constructed. The venue was inaugurated by His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen during the opening ceremony of Saranchit Health Park on 7 January 2026, a royal honor of immense significance. Vajiralongkorn Dam is fully equipped with a standard competition venue and facilities, committed to supporting the event and warmly welcoming all athletes.

Mr. Sakon added that beyond the BMX track, Vajiralongkorn Dam offers various facilities such as a skate park, pump track, golf course, football field, tennis courts, shooting range, and a 10.28-kilometer cycling route. The dam also provides accommodations for athletes and tourists visiting Thong Pha Phum throughout the year. Next week, the dam will collaborate with Thong Pha Phum District to host the 2026 Annual Fruit Festival from 25-29 June at the helicopter parking area within the dam. Local orchardists will sell Thong Pha Phum’s renowned fruits—including durian, rambutan, mangosteen, and longkong—at affordable prices for the public.
