Grand Finale of "Amazing Muay Thai World Festival 2026"
Maj. Gen. Thanapol expressed pride as the Thai team swept 9 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals at the grand conclusion of the Amazing Muay Thai World Festival 2026, an international amateur Muay Thai event hosted by Thailand from 25-29 June 2026. The young Thai fighters delivered outstanding performances, earning 9 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals. Additionally, Roi Kaew W. Kusang was honored as the tournament's Best Female Boxer on 29 June 2026 at Nimibutr Gymnasium, National Stadium, Bangkok. Maj. Gen. Thanapol Phakdipoom, Chairman of the World Boxing Council Muay Thai (WBC MuayThai) and Chairman of WBC Asia, led the closing ceremony and awarded medals to the competitors. This was the fifth edition of the Amazing Muay Thai World Festival, previously held twice in Thailand and twice in Italy. Its purpose is to promote Muay Thai as Thailand’s Soft Power, alongside boosting sport tourism and international cultural exchange. This year, over 950 athletes from 62 countries participated, along with coaches, delegates, and entourage totaling over 3,000 people, reflecting Muay Thai’s sustained growth on the global stage. Maj. Gen. Thanapol said he is proud the event achieved its goals in organization, fostering friendship among athletes worldwide, and the excellent results of the Thai national team, who earned medals worthy of the host nation and impressed participants from all 62 countries. The Thai team sent 14 athletes, winning 9 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals, plus the special Best Female Boxer award to Roi Kaew W. Kusang. Thai gold medalists included Ekpayak Tot Plabplanarai, Bowi Sit Apidet, Wuttikan Boom Deksian, Wuttikrai Boom Deksian, Petmorakot Sit Songpieng, Thelek Revolution Phuket, Roi Kaew W. Kusang, Mafia Sit Apidet, and Yusri. Silver medalists were Tawan Chai Sit Apidet and Roi Apsorn W. Kusang. Bronze went to Num Muangjan Sit Je Film, Sao Muangjan Sit Je Film, and Yodlekpet. This achievement marks an important milestone for Thai Muay Thai, elevating it internationally and reinforcing Thailand’s role as a global Muay Thai hub, using the sport to drive the creative economy, sport tourism, and cultural promotion worldwide.
