Tactical Shooting Debuts at Thai Armed Forces Games Police Sharpshooters Win Most with 5 Gold Medals

Tactical shooting was included in the Thai Armed Forces Games for the first time, with police sharpshooters winning the most gold medals—five in total.


The IPSC tactical shooting competition at the 56th Thai Armed Forces Games took place at the Tactical Shooting Range, Central Police Tactical Training Center, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima. The opening ceremony was held on 29 Jun 2026, presided over by Police General Itthipol Atchariyapradit, National Police Chief. Representatives from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Royal Thai Police, along with General Pheumsak Puangsaroj, President of the Tactical Shooting Sports Association of Thailand, and shooters from all four branches, participated in the event.

Police General Itthipol Atchariyapradit said at the opening ceremony that this was the first time tactical shooting was included in the Thai Armed Forces Games. The aim is to promote physical fitness, strengthen health, foster unity among agencies, and select skilled athletes to represent the Thai Armed Forces in international competitions.

Tactical shooting was officially added to the Thai Armed Forces Games for the first time, with full competitions held under the rules of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) from 29 Jun to 3 Jul 2026. The event featured three firearm categories: Standard, Optics, and PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine), competing for six gold medals in individual and team events. The Royal Thai Police shooting team dominated, securing the most gold medals with five.

Results in the Standard category were as follows: Individual gold went to Sergeant Major Natthawat Nokthaisong, silver to Police Senior Sergeant Major Sadisakorn Chomrit, and bronze to Police Lieutenant Patcharin Inhom. In the team event, gold was awarded to Police Team A, silver to Police Team B, and bronze to Navy Team A.

In the Optics category, individual gold was won by Police Lieutenant Hasanat Wichitpatima, silver by Police Corporal Montri Pimchuea, and bronze by Police Senior Sergeant Major Thammachat Liangphong. The team gold went to Police Team A, silver to Police Team B, and bronze to Navy Team A.

For the Pistol Caliber Carbine category, individual gold was claimed by Police Colonel Wisit Sriyapai, silver by Police Senior Sergeant Major Khantisak Chaiyaphat, and bronze by Police Corporal Wayuphat Bunla. In the team event, gold went to Police Team A, silver to Police Team B, and bronze to Navy Team B.
