Princess Sirivannavari to Compete in Asian Games Equestrian Event, Boosting Morale of Thai Athletes

Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya has been selected as a member of the Thai national equestrian team to participate in the 20th Asian Games, boosting the morale of the Thai athletes. Meanwhile, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) is preparing to present an honorary award recognizing the value of national athletes to Her Royal Highness.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya has met the qualifications and demonstrated the potential recognized by the Equestrian Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage to represent Thailand at the 20th Asian Games, held from 19 September to 4 October 2026 in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), revealed that Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya is preparing to participate in the 20th Asian Games, which brings joy and serves as a morale booster for the Thai national athletes who will witness her sporting excellence once again.

Following the Equestrian Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage finalizing the names of Thai national equestrian athletes for the 20th Asian Games, the SAT is preparing to present the honorary award recognizing the value of national athletes to Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya.

The SAT Governor added that the honorary award recognizing the value of national athletes is an accolade established by the SAT and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports for National Sports Day 2025. This award is akin to a national artist honor. Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya is the first Thai national athlete in history to receive this award, due to her excellence as a representative athlete in badminton and equestrian sports. She is also a patron of Thai sports, continuously offering awards and encouragement to Thai athletes, laying the foundation and supporting the development of Thai sports to meet international standards.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya has been training with her personal horse, “Boulevard,” to prepare for the equestrian dressage competition at the 20th Asian Games. This marks her fourth participation in the Asian Games: previously at the 15th Asian Games (2006) in Doha, Qatar, competing in women’s team badminton; the 17th Asian Games (2014) in Incheon, South Korea, competing in equestrian dressage; and the 19th Asian Games (2022) in Hangzhou, China, also competing in equestrian dressage.
