"Mai Kiu" Kiattisak Singhapong, a rising star rider from Honda Racing Thailand, once again demonstrated his determination on European soil by overcoming a back-of-the-grid start to wave the Thai flag on the podium at the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup 2026 Round 5 at Sachsenring Circuit, Germany, on 11 July 2026.
In the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup 2026 Sachsenring Round, race one, "Mai Kiu" Kiattisak Singhapong qualified with a lap time of 1:28.238 minutes, initially earning the 2nd starting grid spot, but was penalized by the race officials and had to start from position 22. The race consisted of 19 laps.
Despite this challenging situation, "Mai Kiu" Kiattisak Singhapong showed promising potential as The Next Successor by aggressively starting the race, overtaking more than nine riders to move up to 13th place in the first lap, then steadily increasing his pace to take the lead at lap 14.
Ultimately, "Mai Kiu" Kiattisak Singhapong engaged in an intense battle with top young riders worldwide and finished the race in 3rd place, earning a trophy and adding 16 points to his total, which reached 84 points, placing him 5th in the season standings.
"Mai Kiu" Kiattisak Singhapong said, "Due to the grid penalty, I had to start from the back of the field. I tried to ride carefully to avoid wearing out the rear tire too much. I increased my pace in the second half of the race and pushed hard in the last two laps. This strategy worked well. Sunday should be a bit easier since I'll start from the front rows. I'll stay calm, manage everything well, and see how much I can achieve."
