“Two Wheels” revamps the Little Riders Race Round 4 by upgrading the starting system and adding semi-final rounds, with prize draws for every athlete to win.
The Cycling Association of Thailand has elevated the 4th round of the Little Riders Balance Bike Championship by introducing a new competition format, including the use of a hydraulic gate start system, widening the race lanes and lengthening the straights, rescheduling practice times to allow younger children more training opportunities, adding semi-final rounds for categories with 3 heats to ensure fairness and give athletes more chances to showcase their abilities, and increasing prizes along with holding souvenir prize draws for all athletes to inspire children and their families.
General Decha Hemkrasri, Deputy Chairman of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), President of the ASEAN Cycling Federation (ACF), and President of the Cycling Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, revealed that the association, in collaboration with Sino-Pacific Trading (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), IRPC Public Company Limited, Central Korat Shopping Mall, and FBT, will hold the 4th round of the Little Riders Balance Bike Championship of Thailand 2026, competing for the Royal Trophy of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, on Sunday, 2 August 2026, at Korat Hall, 4th Floor, Central Korat, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
General Decha stated that for this round, the Cycling Association of Thailand has improved many aspects of the competition to raise its standards to be more modern and fair. The start system will switch from an electromagnetic gate to a hydraulic gate, which enhances the precision of athlete releases. Additionally, the race lanes have been widened with longer straights compared to Round 3, allowing athletes to fully demonstrate their potential and making the races more exciting, engaging, and just.
He added that the association also revised the qualifying rounds by adding semi-final rounds for categories with 3 heats to ensure a fair and appropriate selection of athletes advancing to the finals. This also provides more competition opportunities, allowing athletes to gain experience, develop skills, and showcase their abilities fully on the national championship stage. The race lanes will be opened on Friday, 31 July at 12:00 PM on the association’s Facebook page, Thailand Cycling Association.
"For practice, the association will allow athletes to train on Saturday, 1 August, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with practice times divided by age groups: up to 2 years to 2.6 years from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, ages 2.7 up to 10 years from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and official practice by age groups from 1:00 to 6:00 PM. The team managers' meeting will be at 5:00 PM at Korat Hall, 4th Floor, Central Korat. On race day, events start at 7:30 AM with an opening ceremony at 8:30 AM, broadcast live on Facebook Live Thailand Cycling Association and YouTube TCA Channel throughout the competition," General Decha said.
The president of Two Wheels added that this competition is a significant platform where all young balance bike athletes have diligently trained. For this round, the Cycling Association of Thailand has prepared honorary trophies for every participant to recognize their pride, dedication, and effort, celebrating each child as a hero of their family. This is in addition to the royal commemorative medals granted by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to all participants.
