A new dimension opens in Thai sports! The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) partners with the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) to conduct Sports Science High Performance training, utilizing genetic data to elevate individual athletes' capabilities, Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) and the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) are advancing Thai sports into a new era by organizing the "Sports Science High Performance" training program. This program focuses on systematically developing athletes using advanced sports science knowledge combined with genetic and personalized data analysis.
The opening ceremony was honored by Mr. Surasak Koedchantuek, Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand for Sports Promotion, who presided over the event at the Convention Hall Pavilion, 8th floor, The Grand Fourwings Convention Hotel, Srinakarin, Bangkok. Athletes, coaches, and sports personnel attended enthusiastically.
A key highlight of the project is collecting saliva samples (swabs) from athletes for detailed genetic analysis, covering diverse personal needs including:
* Health and physical fitness: assessing basic potential and body limits.
* Nutrition and recovery: planning diet and muscle recovery aligned with DNA.
* Injury risk reduction: analyzing risk factors to prevent injuries from training and competition.
* Behavior and sleep: adjusting lifestyle habits for optimal rest and recovery.
All analysis results are compiled into personalized reports accessible through an online system, allowing athletes, coaches, and sports associations to conveniently and accurately use the information for long-term training planning.
The event atmosphere was full of interest throughout the day, featuring lectures by nationally recognized experts on key topics including:
* Assistant Professor Thaworn Kamutsri — lecture on "Enhancing Physical Fitness"
* Dr. Orawan Puchaiwattananon — lecture on "Sports Nutrition"
* Dr. Anon Kitchanitcheew — lecture on "Genetic Science Testing for Athletes"
* Assistant Professor Dr. Apan Chanit Siriphet — lecture on "Sports Psychology"
A crucial step toward sustainable success
This training marks a significant milestone in transforming Thai sports from a one-size-fits-all training approach to athlete development based on genes and individual potential. This enhances training efficiency, reduces illness and injury risks, and lays a solid foundation for leading Thai athletes to achieve sustainable success at the international level.
