SAT Organizes Sports to Link Tourism in SAT Sports Tourism Festival to Boost Travel and Showcase Chanthaburis Charm

The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) organizes sports events to link tourism through the 'SAT Sports Tourism Festival,' aiming to boost tourism and invite people to experience the charm of Chanthaburi.

On 24 July 2026, Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), presided over the opening of the sports competition connecting tourism, "SAT Sports Tourism Festival 2026" or "SAT Sports Tourism Festival." Attending were Mr. Thawatchai Namsamut, Deputy Governor of Chanthaburi Province; Mr. Surasak Koetchantuek, Deputy Governor of SAT for Sports Promotion; Ms. Somchorns Mingkhamlert, SAT Advisor and Spokesperson; Mr. Kuea Chusri, Director of Regional Sports; event committee members; government agencies; private sector; local administrative organizations; sports associations; sponsors; coaches; and athletes. The event took place at the activity plaza in front of Central Shopping Center, Chanthaburi Province, on 24 July 2026.

Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, SAT Governor, said that the Sports Authority of Thailand, in cooperation with Chanthaburi Province and all network partners, organized the SAT Sports Tourism Festival 2026. The main goal is to use sports as a driving force for tourism, stimulate the economy, generate income for communities, and sustainably improve people's quality of life. The event, held as a sports festival, combines various sports competitions with a Sports Entertainment Expo that showcases Chanthaburi's charm, including its natural resources, arts and culture, lifestyle, and local identity to tourists and participants, creating memorable experiences and encouraging future travel.

“The SAT believes that this event will be a model for integrating sports and tourism, creating value economically, socially, and for community development. It will also inspire children and youth to take an interest in exercise, sports, and self-development toward excellence,” he added.

The "SAT Sports Tourism Festival 2026" sports competition was held from 24–26 July 2026 to stimulate travel and generate revenue for local businesses, including accommodation, restaurants, transportation, and local operators. This underscores the role of sports as a driving force for the country's economy and tourism, while promoting Chanthaburi as an important future destination for sports and tourism in Thailand.
