
The selection committee for the governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has reviewed candidates' qualifications and found only 2 out of the 10 applicants meet the criteria. The next step requires Dr. Meechai Inwood, Deputy Governor for Administration, and Mrs. Prodpran Samanmitr, Deputy Governor for Professional Sports and Boxing—both fully qualified—to take an English communication test on 10 August 2026 and attend interviews on 13 August 2026, respectively.
On 7 August 2026, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) announced that it had opened applications for the governor position from 15 to 29 July 2026, receiving 10 applicants in total. Most recently, on 7 August 2026, the selection committee chaired by Ms. Nutriya Taweewong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, officially published the list of candidates who fully meet the qualifications.
The announcement stated that during the second meeting of the selection committee on 7 August 2026, the committee reviewed and selected candidates who meet the qualifications: Dr. Meechai Inwood, Deputy Governor for Administration, and Mrs. Prodpran Samanmitr, Deputy Governor for Professional Sports and Boxing. To proceed with selecting the next SAT governor according to the announcement, the committee has set the next steps for these qualified candidates as follows.
The English communication proficiency test will be held on 10 August 2026 at the Tevawong Waropakan Institute of Foreign Affairs, Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary (Building B), 7th Floor, Entrance 1 (Elevator E2). The schedule is as follows: Dr. Meechai Inwood from 09:30 to 09:50, and Mrs. Prodpran Samanmitr from 09:50 to 10:10. The candidates’ English test scores will be combined with their interview scores.
Following that, interviews will take place on 13 August 2026 in the Strategy and Planning Division meeting room, 9th floor, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Government Complex (Building C), Chaeng Watthana Road, starting at 10:00 a.m. Dr. Meechai Inwood is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., and Mrs. Prodpran Samanmitr at 11:00 a.m.
