"Ploy" Natcha Kaewnoi rallied her strength to clinch 2 gold medals and 1 bronze in the women's youth 53 kg category at the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Thai weightlifting team has so far amassed 4 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal.


At the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the Thai team had previously won 2 gold and 1 silver medals from "Noon" Narumon Wonghajak, competing in the women's youth 49 kg category. On 9 August 2026, the Thai team anticipated more medals from "Ploy" Ms. Natcha Kaewnoi in the women's youth 53 kg Group A.

Starting with the snatch, Natcha had a rocky start. On her first attempt at 81 kg, she failed to lift. She then increased the weight to 82 kg on her second try and succeeded. Her third attempt at 85 kg failed, leaving her best snatch record at 82 kg and earning her the bronze medal.

In the clean and jerk, the Thai athlete gave a strong effort, successfully lifting 101, 104, and 107 kg in three attempts. Her best lift of 107 kg brought her the gold medal and raised her total to 189 kg, earning her another gold. In total, Natcha took home 2 golds and 1 bronze.

Meanwhile, Jodie Peralta from the Philippines won gold in the snatch with 86 kg and silver in the total with 188 kg. Shabnam Kerimbayeva from Turkmenistan took two silvers for snatch (83 kg), clean and jerk (103 kg), and a bronze for total (186 kg). Lien V.Y. from Vietnam earned a bronze in the clean and jerk with 102 kg.

In the youth men's 65 kg Group B, Natthakit Ngamwilai set records with a 110 kg snatch, 130 kg clean and jerk, totaling 240 kg. In the junior men's 65 kg Group B, Panudet Pankrot lifted 106 kg in snatch and 140 kg in clean and jerk for a total of 246 kg. Overall, the Thai weightlifting team has secured 4 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
