"Seh Muuk" revealed that the "Track Asia Cup 2026" is bustling with activity as 38 teams from 19 nations compete to earn points for Olympic qualification. "Beez" and "Jay" are returning to test their skills ahead of the Nagoya Games.
The Cycling Association of Thailand is preparing to host the international track cycling event "Track Asia Cup 2026" from 28-30 August at the Huamark Velodrome. Registered as a UCI Class 1 event, it features national and club teams from 19 countries, totaling 38 teams, with over 1,000 athletes and officials expected—the highest ever. Thailand's national team preparing for the 20th Asian Games, led by Juthatip Maneepan and Jay Angsuthasawit, will participate to test their skills before their final training camp in China ahead of the Nagoya Games.
"Seh Muuk," General Decha Hemkrasri, Vice President of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), President of the ASEAN Cycling Federation (ACF), and President of the Cycling Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, announced that the Cycling Association is organizing the international track cycling competition "Track Asia Cup 2026" from 28-30 August 2026 at the Huamark Velodrome under the Sports Authority of Thailand. The event has been registered with the International Cycling Union (UCI) as a Class 1 competition on the UCI annual calendar.
General Decha said the "Track Asia Cup 2026" international cycling competition will feature 38 teams from 19 countries, including national and club teams. National teams include Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Malaysia, Macau, Indonesia, the Philippines, India, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Bahrain, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. The 23 club teams include six from South Korea—Sangju Cycling, Samyang Cycling, KSPO Cycling, KNSU, Yeoncheon Cycling, and Yeongdeungpo Technical High School; three from China—Yunnan Cycling, Guangzhou Cycling, Sichuan Cycling; two from Taiwan—Xinzhe High School, Fullcom Kaohsiung 0715; two from Hong Kong—HKSI and CAHK; two from Malaysia—Selangor Cycling Federation and Kahya Mata; plus Standard Insurance from the Philippines, QLD from Australia, Qatar Pro Cycling from Indonesia, clubs from Sweden, the USA, Cuba, Slovakia, and Thailand’s Velodrome team.
General Decha stated that this international track cycling competition is registered with the UCI as a Class 1 event, where athletes accumulate world ranking points aiming to qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA. It also offers opportunities to compete in the Nations Cup and World Championships. With 38 teams from 19 countries and over 1,000 participants, this is the largest ever. These athletes and officials will stimulate local commerce by patronizing nearby shops, restaurants, and souvenir stores, boosting income for local vendors. Moreover, athletes will visit various tourist attractions, helping stimulate the local economy and promote tourism effectively.
General Decha added that the opening ceremony on 28 August at 14:00 will be honored by Dato Amjit Singh Gill, President of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), who will preside over the event. The ceremony will feature a Ramakien Khon performance by Ramkhamhaeng University, a Pi Scots band performance from Vajiravudh College, and full-scale lighting and sound shows. Meanwhile, the Thai national team preparing for the 20th Asian Games, training in Tianjin, China, led by Lieutenant Colonel "Beez" Juthatip Maneepan, "TJ" Jay Angsuthasawit, Sergeant Major Narasetthada Bunma, and Sergeant Major Yunyong Petchrat, will return to compete alongside other Thai cyclists to test their skills and compete against international riders. Afterward, they will return to Tianjin for their final training before competing in the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, this September.
General Decha further stated that the Cycling Association of Thailand will hold a press conference for the "Track Asia Cup 2026" on 18 August at 14:00 at the Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel. Teams will gradually arrive in Thailand starting 24 August and can begin training from 25 August. The UCI-appointed international referee, Mr. Matthew Wright from Australia, will serve as the chief referee for the event. He is a highly skilled official who has officiated in Thailand multiple times. The team managers' meeting will take place on 27 August at 15:00 at the Bangkok Inter Place Hotel, Ramkhamhaeng Soi 24, chaired by General Decha.

For those unable to attend at the Huamark Velodrome, the Cycling Association will livestream the Track Asia Cup 2026 on Facebook Live via the Thailand Cycling Association and TCA Channel pages, as well as on the TCA Channel YouTube starting at 08:00 daily until the competition concludes," General Decha concluded.
