"Seth.Muek" revealed the success of the third Thailand Open in Chainat Province, with over 1,000 athletes competing. He emphasized the event as an opportunity for youth and junior athletes to demonstrate their skills to join the national team and compete internationally at the Youth Asian Games, Youth Olympic Games, and World Youth Championships. Meanwhile, Jitthana Yingtaveelapa, President of Chainat PAO, expressed delight at the overwhelming response, with full hotels and busy shops and restaurants, boosting the local economy and tourism. She also welcomed the Cycling Association's return to host the Thai cycling championships in Chainat again in 2027. The live broadcast on Facebook over two days attracted more than 45,000 views.
The Thailand Open, the 2026 national championship for mountain biking and road cycling, took place at the BMX Stadium of Chainat PAO, Khao Yao Subdistrict, Chainat Province, on 15-16 August 2026. On 16 August, the road cycling opening ceremony was chaired by Jitthana Yingtaveelapa, President of Chainat PAO, who also started the race. Naval Commander Thitiporn Noirak, Secretary-General of the Cycling Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, and other officials also attended the ceremony.
"Seth.Muek," General Decha Hemkrasri, Vice President of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), President of the ASEAN Cycling Federation (ACF), and President of the Cycling Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, said the third leg of the Thailand Open in Chainat was highly successful. More than 1,000 athletes from all over the country competed over two days, resulting in fully booked events. This strong turnout reflects the popularity of the competition.
"Importantly, the Cycling Association does not allow national team cyclists to compete, making this event a platform for new and rising athletes to fully showcase their potential. Especially outstanding youth and junior athletes have the chance to advance to the national team. The association will consider sending them to international competitions such as the Youth Asian Games, Youth Olympic Games, and World Youth Championships to gain experience and develop their abilities to become key members of Thailand’s national team," General Decha said.
Jitthana Yingtaveelapa, President of Chainat PAO, stated that the Thailand Open cycling competition received very positive feedback. She noted that thousands of athletes and supporters traveled to Chainat Province. She expressed gratitude to the Cycling Association of Thailand for honoring Chainat as the host of the national cycling championship, which greatly stimulated the local economy. Almost all hotels in Mueang District were fully booked, with guests also staying in nearby districts. Shops and restaurants benefited from increased business, delighting local vendors with higher sales.
The PAO president added that the race finish line was at the Khao Phlong viewpoint, offering a 360-degree panoramic view of Chainat City, impressing athletes and spectators alike. For 2027, Chainat Province and its PAO are pleased and ready to welcome the Cycling Association back to host the national cycling championships again. This year, cooperation among all sectors was excellent, and they expect even more partners next year after seeing the success of this event, which boosts the economy, promotes tourism, and raises nationwide awareness of Chainat.
The third leg of the Thailand Open road cycling competition was broadcast live on Facebook via Thailand Cycling Association and TCA Channel, as well as on YouTube TCA Channel. Women’s Open category (68.6 km): 1st place - Juthamat Ariyapapon, SPY Team, time 2:06:55; 2nd place - Natnicha Suwannakorn, Stream Bike Korat Team, time 2:09:55; 3rd place - Miew Yu, Kunming Trek Team, time 2:10:59.
Women’s Youth category (68.6 km): 1st place - Thanchanok Jinaphirom, Bangkok Sports School & Roojai Team, time 2:13:45; 2nd place - Thiti Rat Yongyingyuen, Lertsawin New Era Construction Materials Environmentally Conscious Team, time 2:14:44; 3rd place - Juthathip Wongsa, Nakhon Nayok Sports School Team, time 2:14:57. The next event organized by the Cycling Association is the international track cycling competition, the Track Asia Cup 2026, held from 28-30 August at the Huamark Velodrome, Sports Authority of Thailand. Thirty-eight teams from 21 countries will compete. Live broadcasts will be available on Facebook Live via Thailand Cycling Association and TCA Channel, as well as on YouTube TCA Channel. This will be followed by the fifth and final leg of the Little Pedalers Thai Cycling Championship for 2026 on 6 September at Kamol Sports Park (FBT), Suwinthawong Road, Nong Chok District, Bangkok.
