On 23 Aug 2026 GMT+7, the amateur Muay Thai and western boxing competition "Khongsittha Fight" took place at Khongsittha Muay Thai Gym. This event was created to allow non-professional boxers to compete and showcase their skills. It was held on 22 August and featured 28 bouts with both Thai and foreign fighters.
Matthew Dean, owner of Khongsittha Boxing Camp, said today's competition was organized to let amateur trainees of Muay Thai and western boxing who want to step into the ring test themselves. This was the first event, prepared independently over a long period, and it received very positive feedback. Registrations filled quickly, resulting in 28 bouts of Muay Thai and western boxing with fighters from several countries including Taiwan, Myanmar, Scotland, China, Vietnam, Singapore, and France. Despite being a competition, the atmosphere was friendly. Fans from Thailand and abroad, of all genders and ages, attended enthusiastically. The event was a successful inaugural edition.
Matthew added that there will definitely be more Khongsittha Fight events in the future, aiming to improve the organization, increase the number of bouts, and match fighters more evenly. He invited interested boxers who want a platform to showcase their skills to apply or request the camp to organize competitions in amateur Muay Thai, amateur western boxing, or professional western boxing. Additionally, the fights were broadcast live on Khongsittha Muay Thai Gym’s social media channels (Facebook: Khongsittha Muay Thai and YouTube: Khongsittha) to allow those unable to attend in person to watch for free.
