Thai child prodigy "Nong Prom," age 8, swept 3 medals at the 2026 Asian Hapkido Championships.
Thailand's youth athletes continue to make waves internationally. Most recently, at the major continental martial arts event, the Asian Hapkido Championships 2026, held on 15 August 2026 at the Sham Shui Po Sports Centre in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
"Nong Prom" Phisit Luangpumiyut, 8 years old, from OYP OLYMPIC and Pitchaya School, competed as a representative of the Thai national team. He displayed remarkable discipline, sharp technique, and dedication honed through rigorous high-standard training, defeating competitors from across Asia. As the youngest athlete on the team, he brought home 3 medals for Thailand, including:
1 gold medal — Team event, OPEN category.
1 gold medal — Sword form event (boys under 10 years old).
1 silver medal — Empty hand form event (boys under 10 years old).
