The "Sports Fund" supports hosting the 4th Thai Senior Tour golf event, "SAT-NSDF," offering a total prize of 1.5 million baht at Alpine Chiang Mai from 1-3 September 2026 GMT+7.
On 28 August 2026 GMT+7, the Thai Senior Professional Golf Association held a press conference for the "SAT-NSDF THAI SENIOR TOUR #4" golf tournament with a total prize of 1.5 million baht at SC Park Hotel, Bangkok. The event will be held from 1-3 September 2026 GMT+7 at Alpine Golf Resort, Chiang Mai, Lamphun Province.
Mr. Sutin Darunyothin, President of the Thai Senior Professional Golf Association, said this tournament is a great opportunity to host the 4th "SAT-NSDF Thai Senior Tour," mainly supported by the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) and the National Sports Development Fund. The event has attracted top Thai superstars such as Udon Duangdecha, Chaowalit Phalaphol, Prayad Marksaeng, among others, as well as 15 leading players from the Senior Japan Tour and top European golfers. Holding the event in Chiang Mai also helps boost the local economy and promotes tourism in Thailand.
Mr. Surapol Jamroon, Head of Professional Sports Development at the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), stated it is positive to hold this event. As a government agency, they want golf to reach all sectors and view this tournament as a way to stimulate interest in golf and promote physical exercise.
Mr. Montri Hanjai, President of the Chiang Mai Sports Association, expressed his happiness that Chiang Mai was trusted by the Thai Senior Professional Golf Association to host the competition, emphasizing their readiness to welcome senior golfers and their families for this event.
Mr. Natthasit Sithikorn, General Manager of Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai, said they are ready to welcome all golfers and their entourages, providing hotel accommodations for athletes, and they are confident the event will be very successful.
This golf tournament is open to members aged 50 and over, played in a 3-day, 54-hole stroke play format. After 36 holes, players ranked 60th and ties will be cut to advance to the final prize round. A total of 156 players will participate, including the top 40 from the Thai Senior Tour rankings, 81 qualifiers, and 35 sponsor invitees.
At the event, Mr. Sutin Darunyothin, President of the Thai Senior Professional Golf Association and Chairman of the Thai Golf Sports Foundation, presented donated golf equipment from members to Ms. Rewadee T. Suwann, Director and Secretary of the Thai Golf Sports Foundation, for the 'School Golf Root Center' project. This initiative, in collaboration with The R&A Foundation, promotes golf education in provincial schools to expand opportunities for youth. Previously, a pilot project was held at Municipal School 2, Wat Senanurimit, Saraburi Province.
