"TJ" Jai Angsuthasawit displayed outstanding form, winning 3 gold medals in the Keirin, team sprint, and individual sprint events. The international track cycling competition, Track Asia Cup 2026, took place from 28–30 August 2026 at the Velodrome in Huamark, under the Sports Authority of Thailand. The Cycling Association of Thailand registered the event with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) as a Class 1 calendar event, allowing riders to earn world ranking points toward qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games. On 30 August, 10 gold medals were contested, with live broadcasts on Facebook Live via the Thailand Cycling Association and TCA Channel, as well as on the TCA Channel's YouTube.
One notable event was the men's individual sprint for the general category, featuring two Thai national team cyclists preparing for the 20th Asian Games: "TJ" Jai Angsuthasawit and Lance Corporal Naraseththada Bunma. In the semifinals, the two Thais competed against each other in a best-of-three format. Jai won both races to advance to the final against Minato Nagashi of Japan. Naraseththada competed for third place against Shinji Nagano, also from Japan.
In the final, Jai Angsuthasawit gave a powerful performance, delighting cycling fans by defeating Minato Nagashi in both races to claim the gold medal—his third after winning in the Keirin and men's team sprint events. Minato Nagashi took silver. In the bronze medal match, Naraseththada was unable to match Shinji Nagano's strength, losing both races and finishing fourth, while Nagano earned the bronze medal.
After the competition, Maj. Gen. Decha Hemkrasri, Vice President of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), President of the ASEAN Cycling Federation (ACF), and President of the Cycling Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, said the overall performance of the Thai national cyclists was satisfactory. Particularly impressive was the Asian Games preparatory squad, with Jai Angsuthasawit sweeping 3 gold medals in the Keirin, team sprint (alongside Lance Corporal Naraseththada Bunma and Police Corporal Yuenyong Petchrat), and individual sprint events. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Jutatip Maneepan secured a silver in the women's omnium, and Naraseththada earned a bronze in the Keirin.
"The Asian Games squad, consisting of Jai, Naraseththada, Yuenyong, and Jutatip, has been training in China since 19 June and shown significant improvement. These four will return to train in Tianjin, China, starting 1 September to adapt to the 250-meter indoor track. They will come back to Thailand on 20 September to prepare for the Asian Games, which begin on 26 September. Track events are scheduled from 29 September to 2 October at the Izu Velodrome in Shizuoka," Maj. Gen. Decha said.
Maj. Gen. Decha added that the major challenge during the Track Asia Cup 2026 at Huamark Velodrome was daily rain, causing a wet and slippery track. Since the venue is open-air, races had to be paused periodically to dry the surface, and some events were canceled for athlete safety. He noted that having a 250-meter indoor velodrome with a roof would allow uninterrupted competition without breaks.

Jai Angsuthasawit won 3 golds in the Keirin, men's individual sprint, and men's team sprint, the latter alongside Lance Corporal Naraseththada Bunma and Police Corporal Yuenyong Petchrat.
The silver medal came from Lieutenant Colonel Jutatip Maneepan in the women's omnium event. The two bronze medals were earned by Lance Corporal Naraseththada Bunma in the men's Keirin and the women's team sprint, which included Apisara Srimongkol, Natthaporn Apimot, and Kawinnat Kruathong.
