Final stretch: Honda Racing Thailand is gearing up to fiercely charge into Sepang for Round 5 of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship 2026.
On 3 Sep 2026 GMT+7, the competition is intensifying in the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship 2026 (ARRC) as the season nears its final stages. This weekend, Honda Racing Thailand’s riders are set to invade Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia for Round 5 from 4-6 Sep 2026 GMT+7. The schedule has been moved up by one week from the original plan, aiming to secure crucial points ahead of the season finale back in Thailand.
Kicking off with the Asia Production 250cc (AP250) class, “Fer” Panjaruj Jitvirunchat, riding the Honda CBR250RR with number 12, has impressively overcome tough challenges and shown sharp adaptability over the past four rounds. His key target this weekend is to finish within the top 5 in the overall standings, marking him as a standout rising star this year.
Moving to the Supersport 600cc (SS600) class, the championship battle is extremely intense. “Mix” Thanach Laongpliu, number 31, is confidently racing on the Honda CBR600RR, trailing the points leader by only 9 points, keeping his title chances very much alive given the remaining races.
However, in this race, teammate “Hypek” Krisada Thanachot, number 18, is still recovering from an injury. The team is sending support and wishes for Hypek’s speedy recovery to return fit and ready for competition soon.
Finally, in the premier Asia Superbike 1000cc (ASB1000) class, Thailand’s sole representative “Chip” Nakarin Athiratphuvapat is preparing to race the Honda CBR1000RR-R against top-tier riders. Currently third in the overall standings, this round is crucial for him to gather important points in both races ahead of the decisive finale on home soil.
