The Honda Racing Thailand riders gave their all through every corner at ARRC Race 2 in Sepang, preparing to tackle the home race that will decide the championship in Buriram.
On Sunday at the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship 2026, Round 5 at Sepang International Circuit, the Honda Racing Thailand riders entered the track with fierce fighting spirit aiming to score as many points as possible before the final showdown.
In the premier Asia Superbike 1000cc class, “Chip” Nakarin Athiratphuvapat, riding bike number 41, started Sunday morning with a fiery performance, posting the third fastest time in the warm-up before delivering a remarkable display in the actual race.
Although starting from sixth on the grid, he overtook competitors to lead from the first corner. The race then became a fierce battle throughout, with “Chip” Nakarin using his experience to fight honorably and crossing the finish line in sixth place.
In the Supersport 600cc class, “Mix” Thanach Laongpliu on bike number 31 began the day strongly, recording the third fastest time in the warm-up, just 0.6 seconds behind the leader.
As soon as the lights went out for Race 2, “Mix” Thanach launched off the line excellently, joining the front pack from the first corner. However, on lap 2 his bike suffered a technical failure forcing him to retire. Nevertheless, it is believed this disappointment will fuel a stronger comeback for the home race.
Moving to the Asia Production 250cc class, “Fer” Panjaruj Jitwirulchat on bike number 12 finished the warm-up in 19th place and started Race 2 from 20th on the grid. He steadily climbed positions to finish 13th, securing valuable championship points.
Although the Malaysian round has ended, the Asian championship battle is far from over. The Honda riders are preparing for the final round, the "home race," from 4-6 December 2026 at Chang International Circuit in Buriram. Thai motorsport fans are counting down and uniting their support.
