
Sami Hyypiä, the legendary former Liverpool defender known as the 'Reds,' brought excitement during his visit to Thailand by joining an aerobics session with locals at Lumphini Park on the evening of 10 September, before preparing to take part in KOP RUN Bangkok 2026 on Sunday, 13 September.
The 52-year-old former Finnish defender, famed for his strength and toughness during his Liverpool career, showed a different side by participating in a fitness activity and casually performing aerobics moves with people at Lumphini Park.
Hyypiä traveled to Thailand to join "KOP RUN Bangkok 2026, presented by Krungthai-AXA Life," returning to Bangkok after seven years. He is set to run the 5-kilometer race alongside Liverpool fans and Thai runners on 13 September at the Plaza Court, Rajamangala National Stadium.
Hyypiä played for Liverpool from 1999 to 2009, appearing in 464 matches, scoring 35 goals, and was part of the squad that won the UEFA Champions League in the 2004-05 season in Istanbul.
Meanwhile, KOP RUN Bangkok 2026 will also feature Tash Dowie, former Liverpool women's team forward. The event is open to a maximum of 10,000 runners, with race distances of 5 and 10 kilometers.
Liverpool fans in Thailand are set to meet Hyypiä and run alongside him at KOP RUN Bangkok 2026 on 13 September.
