"Run-View-Wow" Feel the breeze and sea along the most romantic route! "SCENIC 1/2 MARATHON KRABI 2026" brought together over 4,000 Thai and international runners to conquer the first southern race certified with the World Athletics Road Race Label before passing on the impressive experience to the new Chiang Mai event.
The event concluded beautifully and memorably. "SCENIC 1/2 MARATHON KRABI 2026" welcomed over 4,000 runners from Thailand and abroad to experience the South's world-class race course amidst stunning scenery, a romantic seaside atmosphere, and the charm of Krabi, a world-renowned tourist city.
A key highlight of "SCENIC 1/2 MARATHON KRABI 2026" was being the first race in southern Thailand officially certified with the World Athletics Road Race Label, underscoring its global standard. The course offered a perfect blend of challenge, natural beauty, and Krabi's unique charm. The experience was further enhanced by top sponsors including Prudential Life Insurance, Gatorade electrolyte drinks, Aquafina water, aminoVITAL energy gels, and Counterpain as main sponsors, all contributing to elevating event standards and supporting runners throughout the route to ensure every kilometer was filled with challenge, admiration, and lasting memories of Krabi.
The race started at the Krabi Provincial Stadium (Ao Nang) and finished at Noppharat Thara Beach–Phi Phi Islands National Park, covering four distances. On Saturday, 12 September 2026, the Beach Run offered a 5-kilometer race starting at 5:30 p.m. and a 3-kilometer race at 5:40 p.m. On Sunday, 13 September 2026, the Half Marathon (21.1 km) began at 4:30 a.m., followed by the 10-kilometer Mini Marathon at 5:00 a.m.
The event's vibrancy extended beyond the race itself, featuring lively activities including stage events, an Expo booth tour, the Kahoot Challenge, and a performance of Nora, a traditional Southern Thai folk art that beautifully blended local identity with the race atmosphere.
Mr. Alongkorn Jiamanukulkit, Managing Director of Race Up Work Co., Ltd. and race director, led sponsors in the Clean The Beach activity to clean Noppharat Thara Beach alongside runners and volunteers from Ban Ao Nang School between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m., before the Beach Run start. This reflected the event's philosophy of not only "running to see the view" but also "caring for the view" to help preserve Krabi's natural beauty sustainably.
In the SCENIC 1/2 MARATHON KRABI 2026 half marathon (21.1 km), competition was intense throughout the course. Krzysztof Hadas from Poland claimed the overall men's championship with a time of 1:08:57, while Fridah Jepkoech from Kenya won the overall women's title in 1:20:55.
Thai runner Intouch Jongjaijit won the Thai men's championship with a time of 1:11:02, and Piyanuch Sukchat took the Thai women's championship with 1:24:57. Their victories perfectly completed the race's conclusion in Krabi amid an atmosphere filled with joy, admiration, and cheers along the way.
Following the charm of southern seas and Krabi's romantic routes, the journey for "View-Wow" runners continues. The next SCENIC MARATHON SERIES event will be the new "Counterpain Scenic 1/2 Marathon Chiang Mai 2026," offering runners a fresh destination to experience another side of Thailand's scenic routes and atmosphere.
